> ESPN Ultimate Standings
Posted by Duckbill - 07-1-09 21:05 - 5 comments
While the Ducks are no longer tops in the NHL in terms of these standings, they are still ranked #11 out of all 122 franchises in the "big Four" sports leagues. The neighbors across the street were #1 and our freeway rivals were 95th out of 122. Last place belonged to the Clippers while last place in the NHL belonged to the Maple Leafs. While I acknowledge our slide, the Ducks are still showing very well overall. Six out of the top eleven franchises in this poll were NHL teams, with Carolina being #1 in the league and #2 overall.

> Duck Lines 2009-2010
Posted by SacredCow - 06-26-09 16:28 - 52 comments
We all like to pretend to be head coaches and tell Randy Carlyle what he should do (or, in some cases, where he should go!). So, here's your chance. If you were the Ducks head coach what would your line combinations be? Here's mine after the Ducks traded Chris Pronger to Philadelphia:

#1 - Lupul/Getzlaf/Perry
#2 - Ryan/Ebbett/Selanne
#3 - Miller/Marchant/Brown
#4 - Beleskey/Nokelainen/Parros

D1 - Niedermayer/Wisniewski
D2 - Whitney/Sbisa
D3 - Brookbank/(Salcido/Festerling/Mikkelson/Mitera)

G - Giguere/Hiller

It's only June 26th and I already like that team!

Oh that's right.

I agree, he'd be a great return from them. Good suggestion.

Michael Russo says Pronger goes to the Flyers.

EDIT: More people are reporting it. Eric Duhatschek for example, who is one of the most reliable guys out there, for all I know.

QUOTE (Ducks' Official Site)
Nearly a year after being taken by the Ducks with the 17th overall selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jake Gardiner received another big call recently, one inviting the defenseman to the U.S. National Junior Evaluation Camp being held this summer.

> TRADE RUMOR: Chris Pronger to the Kings!
Posted by SacredCow - 06-12-09 09:32 - 117 comments
It's just a rumor for right now so I also put this in the rumor thread, but if it happens it'll need its own thread so here it is:

According to Andy Strickland of Hockeybuzz.com Chris Pronger has been traded to the Kings in exchange for Jack Johnson and the 5th overall pick in the 2009 draft.

We'll see if this actually happens or not. If it turns out to be a baseless rumor I will merge this with the rumors thread but for now I will leave this open to discuss. Please add any other reports to this thread as they become available.
