AnaheimDucks #NHLDucks’ Todd Marchant Announces Retirement after 18 Years as an @NHL Player – Remains in Organization as Player Development Coach

Best wishes to Todd and his family. A great player and locker room presence.

(For the record, I do not want to sound like a jerk saying it, but I am sort of glad he retired. He still has lots to offer to this team, but his on-ice preformance was starting to trail off a bit. Love the fact he is sticking around. )

Good for Todd. He is a great guy, and we all know the passion he has and the great teamate he is. It is a good decision because with all that he brings unfortunatly his skills have diminished just like what happens to every player (except selanne). The ducks will be a better team with this decision.

Glad he's staying around.

Sad he's retiring. Hope he enjoys it with his kiddos.

He was always one of the nicest guys at the fan fest thing.

If anyone ever wanted to see Troy Loney dance a jig, now would be the time.

QUOTE
Id like to personally thank Todd for his invaluable contributions to this organization over the last six years, said Ducks Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. His character and presence in our locker room will be missed, but were extremely grateful that he has agreed to join the front office as Director of Player Development. Congratulations to Todd and his family on a wonderful career.

i guess it's time.
i'm sad that he is leaving. always such a character, giving his all 100% of the time...

it's great that organization found a place for him. you can only benefit from people like T-Bone.

does that mean that Timmy is still ACE reporter? laugh.gif

Good. I'm glad he's staying with the organization and that he's not going to be on the roster ever again. Thanks for everything, Todd, and good luck.

Love that he is sticking around. It seems that is happening more often with the Ducks organization nowadays. I felt like it used to be, all the other team's former players would stick around but not ours. Good to see players living here and keeping a position.

Anyway, congrats to Todd. What a career. Glad he got a Cup with us.

Does this mean his son won't be doing interviews either? awwww c'mon!

Thank you so much T-Bone for working your tail off for the Ducks. Your work ethic and passion will be missed.

I miss T-Bone already. I know he's not a legend, but I think the Ducks should do something to honor him, and Kariya for that matter.

.....and Rucchin and Rusty! They were Ducks vets!

For Rusty I'd have a gold-plated rsvp thingie placed in the sin bin w/his name and # on it. wink.gif

For Rooch I'd have a nice pic of him, Teemu, and PK w/some sort of plaque.

i'm pretty sure they will

they do it for every ex-Duck coming back to Honda ("Thank you Bryz" video *and a goal he let in right after that, claiming he was overwhelmed with such a classy thing*, "Thank you Rusty" vid *again he said he was very touched and didn't expect it*)
so if you do it for the guys who are still playing, i'm sure they will do it for those that retired. especially a member of that '07 team.

oh and btw, since daddy is still with the Ducks, i don't see why not little Timmy should be off the media team too...
