We've done fine in the past without a bomb fromt he point, but you have to have other pieces. Biggest piece, IMO, net front presence.
We have the guys who can run the PP's, a big shot would be nice, but I think you can do without it if the other pieces work.
Yeah, maybe Howitzer is the wrong term. They need to get pucks on net. They too often seem hesitant to direct shots on goal, or unable to get shots from the point through.
Their recent PP QB's seem to just be really good at passing the puck around the perimeter. That's the equivalent to having an actual QB who is really proficient at handing the ball off.
Eventually you have to go vertical/get pucks on net.
I actually think it has LESS to do with their personnel and MORE to do with their scheme. They want to see if they can pass the puck into the net, as opposed to getting it on net and creating havoc. When Eaves showed up it seemed like they changed a little bit because he went to the front. He was less of a passing option and more of a screening option. Then Eaves got hurt and they all wanted to pass for 2 minutes.
