Yeah, his chin curtain is impressive.

Hope it mesmerizes some more goalies while he slips the puck past them.

Great beard.

Hope he brings some offense to this group.

More than I thought we'd do but what a gross overpayment. Hes having a career year at 32. Bobs starting to reach, he must feeling the pressure.

We just traded a 2nd round pick for a 32 year old UFA who has never played 82 games in his career, has already played the most games in a season since 10-11, has only scored over 30 points once before in his career... We just traded for Beleskey.

Eaves - .37pts per game over his career

Beleskey - .35pts per game over his career

I just hope this is a precursor to something else, something bigger.

Boy, check out this moron ^^

Even after a few games, I did not think Eaves was a difference maker at all. Doh.

If we could only find a way to keep him.

Patrick Eaves made plenty of morons out of people this year.

And good on him, he seems like a very decent person. I just hope he can get a contract from someone for the contributor he's worked himself into being. Unfortunately, I don't think we can give him what he'll be worth. Bummer, because you can tell what a team player he is is. Good character guy.

Screw next year, I just hope he keeps this up in the playoffs.

And its possible we could keep him. We will be shedding at least 1 contract. Depending on where they stand with a Fowler extension, you could see him traded or Sami too.

Berniers cap hit will be gone. No big RFAs this summer.

He's gunna get paid. Not likely by us. Ritchie will be expected to fill his role next year.

what is he going to get paid? he is 33 and hasn't scored more than 14 goals except his rookie year and this year. plus this is one of his few injury free years of his career. he'll get a 2 year deal for $3/per max.

Yeah, he will fetch something decent but lets not pretend like hes going to get $5mil.

The good doctor is probably right, 2-3 year deal for something like $3mil per

Let someone else pay him. Took him 13 years to play a full season and he's never come close to this kind of Cy Young year in his career. Be thankful we got him for this long but forget about bringing him back.

He is a bearded dwarf (check him out in the numerous goal celebrations he's had since he arrived with Getzlaf, Lindholm, Fowler, Kesler, Rakell - he looks like their little brother with a pubic hair abnormality) who just gets to the net and makes things happen.  And he has a sneaky quick shot.

Coach's son.  Really good coach.  Never a bad bet.

Plus, he's a great interview.  Straight answers, happy to be there.

Don't get me started......

Yeah, I don't really see a scenario where he comes back, unless he wants to get underpaid.

Im not even saying I want him back, just that its not out of the realm of possibility that it could happen because he isnt going to go from a $1mil contract to a $5mil contract AND we have money coming off the books and roster spots opening up.

Id gladly bring him back for the right priace, but probably not at what hes going to get even though its not going to be anything crazy.

With the Ducks win tonight and advancing to the WCF the conditional pick that DAL gets from ANA changes from a 2nd to a 1st.

If that is the case, and I fully believe it is, we're already behind the 8 ball going into the Nashville series.

Even with Eaves, they have better scoring depth. Without him? RCHC better be on his matchup A game

It's gunna be a rough series. Best team we've faced in the playoffs since Chicago in 2015.

But Nashville is still not as good as the 2015 Chicago team that we almost beat.

I don't know if we're better than 2015 Ducks either.  At least not on paper.   More experienced?  Absolutely.  But that 2015 team had some real talent.

Nashville is the 16th seeded team this Playoffs. Are they really that good?

Have you watched them play at all? They are firing on all cylinders

Takes out the #1 seed with a sweep. That, plus given our track record with them in the playoffs. You'd be a fool to not be concerned.

Right, this isnt the 2015 Blackhawks and it sure as hell isnt the 2015 Ducks.

Kinda sucks giving up a better draft pick for going to the WCF when the player you traded for is out with an injury :-/
