5:30 p.m.

"The biggest thing now is to go out and start the way we want to," Getzlaf said. "We have to find a way to get this thing back to even before we go home." The Ducks will return to Honda Center with a brand new series or face elimination in Game 5 on Friday.

If right wing Patrick Eaves doesn't play tonight, Corey Perry could fill his spot alongside Getzlaf and Rakell. Perry skated on the top line yesterday in place of Eaves, who suffered an apparent lower-body injury during Game 3. Eaves was seen in a walking boot later that night, but didn't have one on yesterday according to reports from Kelowna. Ondrej Kase, recalled prior to Game 3, could slot in on the third line if Perry replaces Eaves.

If we want to get home ice advantage back, we gotta take this one. Although, if the visiting teams are winning, do we really want home ice advantage? :hmm:

Yes, we need to break that cycle.  If the road team wins every game, we lose the series in 7.

We want to win this one in 6.

Eaves doubtful for tonight.  Perry on the Getzlaf line.  Kase on the Vermette line.

I cringe at the thought of Perry back ont he top line and Kase hasnt done anything since the beginning of the season. Im afraid they are going to end up killing 2 lines here.

I'd go

Vermette/Getzlaf/Rakell

Cogliano/Kesler/Silfverberg

Ritchie/Thompson/Perry

Kase/Wagner/Shaw

But I'm not HCRC.

Perry on the top line smells bad.

100%

Getz is playing lights out w/o Perry and he's finally shooting more. I don't want Perry ruining Getz's good mojo right now.

I hear ya, but what other choice do they have? Ritchie on the top line?

Yes. RItchie ont he top line. Great idea.

Or Kase on the 1st line.

Ive been saying it for a few months now, Getzlaf seems to thrive with young and/or fast guys. It gives him life, he feeds of their energy.

One of our advantages is having four good centers for four lines, especially in the circle.

I wouldn't mess with the centers.

And it's not like Vermette is going to make Getz's line any more of a scoring threat than Ritchie.

Heck, is put Wagner with Getz/ RikRak before I'd mess with our centers. Wagner is MUCH more effective as a winger than a center.

How about giving Wagner a try?

Maybe he can bring a little "Mad Dog Kunitz" flavor to that line. Squash some people at high speed. Cause some havoc out there like Kuni did, which created space for AndyMac and Teemu.

Im not saying it wont work, but given the current lines and current success, I think Wagner fills that 4th line role better than Kase or Ritchie. 4th line isnt Kase's game and Ritchie it too valuable to be ont hat line.

If Im making the decisions, Im trying to keep everything balanced, trying to keep my centers in tact and make sure players are where they are most effective.

For me, the discussion is Kase or Ritchie ont he top line, and thats as far as I go.

I like he is giving a perry a shot at the 1st line, maybe it will jump start him. With that said, I would bet a large amount that Perry will be a short leash, if the 1st period doesn't go well, I would guess lines might get shuffled.

Perry just needs to go to the net and score the ugly ones. It's how he's made his millions.

Not this yea. This year hes earned his millions by not showing up for 80% of the season.

I'm saying he needs to go back to doing what earned him the millions in the first place.

And usually Keith Jones is one of the few NBC guys who's fair to the Ducks.
