When was the last time that the first round ended with NO series going 7?

I think the Ducks can really exploit edmontons lack of scoring depth. 3rd line match-up

Maroon/Letestu/Kassian vs. Rakell/Thompson/Perry

Also, it's going to be Nugent-Hopkins' job to shut down Getzlaf, I don't see that happening.

IMO, these are the two areas where the Ducks win or lose the series.

I would add that Gibson has to be better than Talbot in order for us to take the series.

I know I'll regret this later, but it is set up perfect. We get the team that is not really expected to do much. They are still young. Minn and Chicago are out. Are we at this point favorites in the West?

I think any of the four teams left can win the West.  To me it's a complete toss up.

Us or NSH. Given our track record with NSH, they are probably the favorites

Hopefully STL will leave Nashville battered and bruised.

Sixteen of 21 pundits on NHL.com have usbeating EDM; 19 of those same 21 pick NSH over STL.

ESPN is pretty similar. 3 of the 4 series has a heavy favorite. But the PIT v WSH series seems to be a straight split.

We know that a close series doesnt nessesarily mean a long series but I still find it funny when people predict some of these as sweeps or 5 game series. The only series I think that could be that quick is the Rangers series. Everything else I see going 6 or 7.

Fowler says he will be ready for game 1.

Also Vats and Lindholm possibly back for game 1 as well.

That's excellent news.

From that jam-packed HCRC presser.

I don't even know about NYR.  Ottawa could give them a pretty damn good run for their money.

Go back and look at all of their Round 1 picks.

Could you be referring to the fact that half of them believed CGY would vanquish us?

And how they almost all picked CHI.  And many picked BOS.  And SJ.  And MON.

Crystal Ballers.

And how they almost all picked CHI.  And many picked BOS.  And SJ.  And MON.

Crystal Ballers.

And here's how the money lays out right now:

Odds to win the Stanley Cup

Washington Capitals                  7/2

Pittsburgh Penguins                  17/4

Anaheim Ducks                         11/2

Edmonton Oilers                       11/2

St. Louis Blues                          13/2

Nashville Predators                   7/1

New York Rangers                     8/1

Ottawa Senators                        10/1

Bovada

So there's the toss-up you mentioned right there in greenbacks; EDM with the same odds as us.

I'm surprised NSH has so much lesser odds than we do. I certainly would not bet money that we would beat then in the playoffs this year.
