Giovanni Fiore was in San Diego just long enough to catch a couple of sunrises and sunsets before he packed his bags and made his way up the coast.

The talented undrafted rookie is back in Anaheim and could make his NHL debut later tonight when the Ducks host the Arizona Coyotes in the season opener.
...
We already know Ryan Kesler, Hampus Lindholm and Sami Vatanen won't play tonight. Ryan Miller won't either, as he still continues to recover from an upper-body injury, nor will Patrick Eaves, who is dealing with a lower-body ailment. Earlier today, Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle confirmed the team's captain, Ryan Getzlaf, would not play.

I always attend Faceoff Fest, but I never go to a game 3.5 hours early on a weekday.

Getzlaf not playing tonight.

We went from C being the strongest part of our line up to it being the worst part of our line up (at least for game 1) VERY QUICKLY.

So what's wrong with our captain?

Hope Gibson has practiced his handling of the puck behind the net, that was not a good part of his game last year.

Ritchie, hope he steps up his game this year, liked him last year but had room for improvement.

Perry......better show us he's worth his pay. (I think he will)

Megna, I think he will be a welcome surprise.

The good and the bad thus far:

The bad: Giving up 2 quick goals and 0-2 on the PP

The good: Perry snipes a goal.

If Perry can't bump the goalie in front of the net, he'll do it behind the net.

Watching the replay, goalie goes down like someone hit him with a 2x4 (diver), but then jumps up right away.

The 'Yotes are a fast team, and we kept up with them. We are not nearly so slow as some people suggest. Other than Getz and Perry, we move our feet pretty good - or at least we CAN!

Just got back. Hell of a comeback. It was loud in there tonight. Proud of the fans and the team. These guys didn't quit, especially when they were down three. Great to see Pears in all the little scrums and post whistle chats.

I was really close tonight.  Was awesome to see Perry celebrate in Dominigue (or whatever'snameis) face when he scored his 2nd goal.  'That's what you get for flopping, bitch.'  Also was rad when Gibson came out to try to fight him.
