Former Hawk Wesley to Fight for Stanley Cup
Andy Kemper - June 2, 2006
Will the fourth time be the charm? Former Winter Hawk Glen Wesley sure hopes so.
With a 4-2 win on Thursday night, Wesley and the Carolina Hurricanes knocked off the Buffalo Sabres to earn the right to take on the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final beginning next Monday, June 5th in Raleigh, NC.
With the loss, former Winter Hawk and Beaverton resident, Paul Gaustad’s rookie NHL season comes to an end.
The trip to the Final will be the fourth time in his 18 NHL seasons that Wesley will have the opportunity to have his name etched on the Stanley Cup.
