There's plenty of tradition and history to use for inspiration. Edmonton's arena is located along Wayne Gretzky Drive, where one nearby building is adorned with a large mural showing five rings - one for each of the team's Stanley Cup titles in the 1980s and 1990.
"Now it's time for the other hand," the sign says.

When they traveled to Edmonton on Thursday to prepare for Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup finals, the Carolina Hurricanes left the Eastern Time Zone for the first time since Dec. 10, when they played the Sharks at San Jose.
