He's been a Mighty Duck all of his life. Why change that now? that's how you get bodies in seats, you keep players around.

I say just sign him for a 1 year deal.

Burke already said no to a 3+ year deal. Salei already said no to a 1 year deal. So, what're we debating? Burke won't give him what he wants, and that's for sure.

Rusty has to compromise because I don't see Burke budging. With several D-men in the system and several decent guys up for free agency, I don't see Rusty as having the upper hand.

Only if it's for less than three years.

Old topic, I know. But I want to add my input really quick.
I pick sign a one-year deal. Only reason, is because yeah, he's been a duck all his life, blah blah...
But he doesn't make as many mistakes as he used to. I remember at the beginning of the year, I just shook my head everytime he was on the ice. Now, it's not that case anymore. He's gotten used to the rules, and has gotten MUCH better. He's a hard defender to play against now. He also tied in scoring the most goals for a defensemen in the playoffs with 3 goals (tied with Beauch). I like this guy, with his +10 rating in the playoffs. I like this guy anyway, great character, as most of you know.
I wonder if Burke would sign him a two year deal.
And if you're using too many useless penatlies as an excuse as to why we should trade him, then Joffrey Lupul REALLY needs to go.
