We were very good in old Yugoslavia *in top of hockey* (Serbia, Montenegro, BiH, Macedonia, Croatia and Slovenia) and then we split-up in massacre... We have many players in Europian hockey leagues *DHL...* and AHL, CHL, and College Hockey leagues... Joe Sakic is "Serbian", he's parents are from Serbia... Peter Zezel, #25, he played for Toronto Maple Leafs. He is now presidant of Serbian White Eagles, our hockey team from Toronto. They are playing in CMHL league * http://www.cmhl.ca/gamecentre.htm *...
We have football teams Crvena Zvezda *Red Star* and Partizan in every sport...
Red Star were Champion League and World Champion's from year 1991...

You must be kidding, Joe Sakic isn't Serbian, of course... his parents are from Imotski, Croatia
Many promising young Canadian hockey players left their hometowns to play major junior hockey. Sakic and two teammates moved to Saskatchewan to play with the Swift Current Broncos when Joe was seventeen....

Actually i might have heard of red star and partizan before...do those places have football teams?
Well you know, the Serbian Hockey League is one of stronger leagues on Balkans. Our clubs beat Bulgarian, Macedonian, Bosnian, but are pretty even matched with Croatian teams.
About players: Well we don't really have a star player in national team of Serbia. We do have some players from Russian and German premier leagues.
Also, there are 3 very notable players playing in NHL, but they changed their citizenship because of war, etc. Those are:
- Milan Lucic (Boston)
- Branko Radivojevic (ex. Colorado and Minnesotta)
- and Corey Sarich i think but i'm not sure (Calgary)
We have more than 7 players playing in the AHL.
Fortunately, Serbian hockey is getting better every year.
