Hurricanes season ticket sales up 60%
QUOTE
The boost may help relieve worries about whether the team can succeed in a small market where college basketball is king.

''I think it's really special to this market because we're relatively new here, we're continuing to try and grow the sport,'' Rutherford said. ''You really can't explain to people what the Stanley Cup playoffs are about. You really have to be there in person.''

I wouldn't be suprosed to see Carolina trade for a decent forward. They need to replace Cullen, Recchi, or Weight. Hopefully Jack Johnson is ready to step up. Another reason to trade for a decent forward is Stillman being out 3-5 months.

Isn't Jack Johnson a defenseman? And I thought he was going to play at least one more year at Michigan.

It's not a matter of keeping track. It's a matter of an avatar or sig being part of someone's identity. Of course people change avatars and sigs every once in a while, but you change them every day, sometimes several times a day! I think it's confusing and psychotic, but that's just me.

Another thing is that you ask people to design stuff for you which takes time and energy and then you use it for 2 hours and all that work is wasted. Why don't you pick something and stick with it?

I think it's rediculous to think that I switch all the time. butbut.gif Alot of the sigs I have gotten rid of have been because of players traded, players acquired, new logos, ect. When I request something I understand perfectly the effort it takes to make a good sig. If it seems I change all the time like you say, I sincerely apologize to anyone who I have requested sigs from and not used them all that much. sad.gif But I assure you I have a good reason of not using it and I don't just say I don't like this one anymore. Hopefully I cleared things up a little bit. wink.gif

To the victors go the spoiled.

Fans of the Stanley Cup-winning Carolina Hurricanes will have a posh new option at the RBC Center this fall.

A new 330-seat "Champions Club" will feature all-you-can-eat gourmet dining, four free glasses of beer or wine, and a private lounge with flat-screen televisions. Buyers of two tickets will get a VIP parking spot as well.

The cost: $5,125 for the hockey season, equivalent to $125 a game. That's the same as a front-row ticket next to the ice, or about 12 times the cost of the cheapest seat.

Cole excited to get going
QUOTE
After a summer of celebrating with the Stanley Cup, the Carolina Hurricanes trudged back to training camp to play their way into shape for a title defence.

All except Erik Cole, who arrived at a near-sprint.

"The toughest thing was making sure I didn't squeal the tires on the way out of the driveway," he said.

I saw Versus' premiere showing of Lord Stanley's Summer featuring the Hurricanes players having their turns
with the Stanley Cup. I liked it when Doug Weight's kids ate ice cream out of it. I think Kevyn Adams' kids
had cereal in it, too.

They'll be a contender no doubt about it. The Canes added some key players in Tanabe, replaced Gerber with a decent backup in John Grahme, not to mention the re-signings of Cole, LaRose, Staal, Commodore, Hutchinson, Wallin, Williams, and Wesley. they are definatley set with future stars with Ward, Staal and Ladd who to me has been a little bit overshadowed by the play of Eric Staal. One thing questionalble is why and the hell they would sign Brind'Amour to a 5 year deal. Carolina is not looking bad at all. I think the play this year of Staal will make up for the loss of Cullen. If Erik Cole stays healthy and plays to the top of his game he's in the top 15 players in the league. Justin Williams is also starting to bloom into a very talented player. The addition of Tim Gleason will help as well. The guy hits, is pretty sound defensively and can add a touch of offense. This is a good team. Make no mistake about it. car.png I also beleive that Scott walker was a key addition.

It's very degrading for the sport in my opinion. Especially with hockey being a major youth sport and influence.
