QUOTE
There will be a rose-coloured haze in the stands next hockey season. The NHL is producing team jerseys in bubble-gum pink.

"It allows women to be fashionable and still support their teams," said Jenny Lyons Cohane, a spokeswoman for Reebok, which manufactures official NHL team jerseys.

If the caps I saw were any indication, *everything* was pink, with gray used to delineate borders.

I'm pretty sure this is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. If it goes to a cancer foundation, great. But come on. Prostate Cancer effects just as many men as Breast Cancer effects women. NHL is a sport where men play hockey, start fights and get drunk, while the women want to be "fashionable". Before we start being politically correct, let's make a foundation for something that's needed, not something that's "in style".

That idea is horrible!! If it is for cancer, thats one thing but you can always have charity drives or awareness foundations or something, but pink jerseys!! I mean, come on. This new NHL is going in a bad direction. I'm sure if Don Cherry heard about this, he'd say something. I know for sure they wouldn't do stuff like that in Philly or Boston back in the 70's.

And if I can help it, they won't do it in Boston in the 00's

------edited to add---------

i just realized...

I may buy one of the hats!!!!

I really think it would look great on me... not the wife... me.

Yup... Opening Night, I will be at the Ponda Center... When the Ducks Play the Queens... Proudly wearing a Black Anahiem Ducks Jersey and a Pink LA Queens hat !

lol this hat is a perfect "anti-team" product and it couldn't suit the queens any better

Bleah. I thought wearing team your team's colors in your own arena was fashionable? If enough fans ignore it, it'll go away.

Same here. If anyone attempts to give me a pink version of the Ducks jersey (Like my Grandma doh1.gif) I swear, I will burn it and throw you in with it crazy.gif I wouldn't be caught dead in that thing. And it's kinda pathetic that now the goal is to look 'fashionable'. It's like saying hockey is only for men, so we have to add something to include the women. I'll stick with my NORMAL Ducks jersey thank you.

I'd wear the Buffalo Slugs jersey before I wore a pink hockey jersey....

the truly horrifying part is that these jersey feature a "softer polyester fabric"

BWAHAAAAAA HAHAHAHHAAAAA

jesus people this is Hockey not Figure Skating...

Now if they remade all the jerseys in blood red... that I might be in favor of
