After all the logo changes in the NHL and AHL this season...I think this one by far takes the cake as the worst logo ever.....Makes the Buffalo logo look great.

This is just awful.

rofl.gif I can't stop laughing about this. This is the worst jersey/logo ever after having one of the best in the league, the switch to this? LOL, this thing sucks.

Shouldn't this be discussed elsewhere? After all the Admirals are not a Ducks affiliate...

lol_1.gif What did they do, starve their admiral til there was nothing left?? Oh gawd! Those poor fans! Perhaps the jerseys will be a whole lot cheaper since they cut down the number of colors and simplified the trim.

The logo and slogan come with quite an interesting story that traces the origin of the new logo, which, as it turns out isn’t new at all.

The Admirals new logo is actually an aged version of the team’s logo from the late 1970’s, a short young lad who was lost in the waters of Lake Michigan back after the 1981 season and was recently found. The only thing that managed to keep him alive all these years was his fighting spirit. In fact, after one of his legs fell off, he used it as a hockey stick to hone his skills.

After over 25 years of being underwater, the red white and blue uniform had faded to the black, silver, and ice blue, and had turned his fresh young face into a skull. Despite all of his changes, his fighting spirit never wavered and that relentless spirit and tireless work ethic have given us our new battle cry: Never Say Die!

well that looked like hell... they are better off with the new one...

the new one may be a bit cartoonish... but overall the jerseys look much more intimidating than that crashing wave nonsense they have been using

The older logo and jersey in much better than that current thing they have, but the best logo that the Admirals had was the Capt. Crunch logo they had

That was one of the best jersey's in the old IHL.

The new one is cooler than the old. But I like lame logos, and that's a lame logo. Which is why I like it.

Did a little research...

The ad "agency" for the Admirals is a one-man company (or at least it was as late as two years ago) and the owner primarily works on image campaigns for metropolitan police forces.

I'm all for extending yourself personally and professionally, but he might have over-reached on this one. rolleyes.gif

EDIT

Correction: Yes Men (the ad agency) doesn't do work for the police departments. Joe Locher has a "real job" in addition to running his own company. It is at that other job, at Linder & Associates, that he does the police campaigns.

He also touts his firm as the "anti-agency" for people who hate advertising. (Someone should tell him that people hate flash websites too. dry.gif) www.yesmen.com

Not at all. He submitted a number of designs. They liked one, they paid for it. That's all that matters. I just did a series of 20 logo comps for a company and they picked the ugliest one dry.gif rolleyes.gif wink.gif
