Drew Remenda and Scott Morrison are the newest members of the Hockey Night in Canada broadcasting team, CBC Sports announced Monday.

A three-time Emmy award-winning television analyst for the San Jose Sharks, Remenda will join Harry Neale and Greg Millen on CBC's roster of color analysts.

...
“I’m very excited,” said Remenda. “It is an unbelievable opportunity. The history and tradition is a little daunting. I had the best gig in the world with a team I love, but now I’m a cog in the big wheel of CBC. I’m honored to be joining what some call the NHL’s 31st franchise.”

Great move for Remenda. I'll miss watching him on the SJ game broadcasts and Shark Bites episodes (since I can't watch HNIC). He's upbeat, funny, and doesn't take himself too seriously, not to mention knowledgeable and fair in his reporting.

McSorley Named Sharks Television Color Analyst

San Jose Sharks Director of Broadcasting Frank Albin announced today that former Sharks player and 18-year NHL veteran Marty McSorley has been hired as the team’s new television color analyst. McSorley will join television play-by-play broadcaster Randy Hahn for Sharks telecasts on FSN Bay Area this season.

...
“My wife and I loved living in the Bay Area and are excited to return,” said McSorely. “The Sharks are known for being a family organization and I am grateful to rejoin their ranks. Also, it is an honor to fill the large shoes left by Drew Remenda. It will be a challenging task, but one that I look forward to undertaking.”

Wow, a new broadcaster!! I'll get to see a lot of him, I really hope he puts those goofs in their place.

I find these moves interesting... Darren Dreger goes to TSN after he was at Rogers Sportsnet.
Then Drew Remenda moves up from regional sports television to the national stage (but in Canada).
I have seen him appear on Satellite Hotstove from time to time last season, so fans watching on CBC
for the Hockey Night In Canada broadcasts will at least be familiar with him.

As for Marty McSorley, I'm surprised he made the move from FSN West/Prime Ticket to FSN Bay Area
to cover the Sharks instead of the Ducks. I guess he felt he'd have a bigger role up there than in Los Angeles.

McSorely will be a commentator in San Jose, while he was just a studio host in LA. He'll be actually at the games, traveling with the team.. it's quite a step up.

Remenda did a great job in San Jose, and I'm very excited for both him and Hockey Night in Canada -- he will fit in great on the world's greatest hockey broadcast.

Good luck to both of these great broadcasters and people!
