VandenBussche, 33, faces charges of assaulting a peace officer, assault causing bodily harm, resisting arrest and threatening death or bodily harm.

The alleged assault on Const. Hector Jibbison occurred during a brawl involving about 40 people in Turkey Point, Ont., southwest of Hamilton, this past Canada Day long weekend.

Hurt cop when he hit him
Didn't yield to cop's authority
Threatened to hurt cop and/or kill him.

Does that help to simplify it?

In other words, really, really stupid choices that have expensive consequences. There is a difference between on-ice and off-ice brawling. One is ok and the other gets you a $10 million dollar lawsuit.
