Do we really need eight pre-season games if it isn’t really necessary – as obviously it isn’t – for these teams to play their final few pre-season games with NHL line-ups?

MacTavish said on a year like this, for his team, maybe yes.

“You need this many when you have the depth in the organization like we have. You want to give your guys the opportunity to play against some NHL players.’’

i think its great with the amount of pre-season games. it gives the franchises time to figure out there line-up without stress and any consequences of losing. they find out what works and what doesnt.

and of course the 'NHL' line-up wont show up till the end because THEY DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS YET

I'm sure the owners don't mind the extra cash.

Nope, not at all. I just wish that they would televise the pre-season games, it's really boring with no hockey on tv.

No I think pre-season games are good as they give new players a chance to adjust playing with their new team. Also it lets the fans and coaches see the new players and you can test out new line ups and sort your team out before the real season starts.

I don't have a problem with pre-season games, but to charge full price for them is ridiculous. I think there should be a universal 1/2 price for pre-season seats at all arenas. It's a great time to introduce people to hockey and get them hooked for regular season.

Yes, season ticket holders should also have the option to take the pre-season games or not and should also have the discounted price.

I would guess that you would draw in more people at the reduced price and the money you'd still make money on food and parking.

blink.gif I never knew they charged full price for pre-season games!!! WOAH!!!!! Surely you sure get discounted tickets as the lineup can change and also the game doesn't matter if they win or lose as it doesn't count for anything. I believe season ticket holders should get to go to pre-season games for free. Maybe I should contact Burke and get this sorted out. smile.gif

dry.gif I also vote too many games!!! It's just so stupid to have so many games that don't count but you still have so many injured players. To me, that's just plain stupid and a waste of talent!!! tomatomelrose.gif
