QUOTE
Programs known as feed readers or aggregators can check a list of feeds on behalf of a user and display any updated articles that they find.

In other words, it's an automated way for you to keep updated with AD.

Um, sorry, but that still makes no sense to me. Does it keep AD updated, or me, or MT, or who/what? Practically, I still have no idea what it does!

My apologies. I should've linked to a more understandable site ... here's something that should answer more questions than create: What Is RSS?
It's probably not something for everyone to use. Especially if you like logging in here anyway to check up on what's going on.
If you're using Firefox version 2 (not sure if 1 had this feature), you can click on the RSS logo in the URL bar and then subscribe to it. It will add it to your bookmarks so that you can quickly view the active topics.

Ah, that I understand! Thanks, DTP!
And FF version 1.5 has the icon in the URL line too, and so I now have the live AD feed bookmarked. This is great stuff. Thanks MT for setting it up, and DTP for explaining how to use it!

rss sounds cool. might have to try it out. But if say you use it for one site is it not redundant? Is it only useful when you regularly check many sites?
