QUOTE
Updated Saturday, November 25

Anaheim Ducks: Ducks goalie Ilya Bryzgalov did not dress for the third consecutive game because of a lower-body injury. He likely will get back on the ice this weekend or Monday, according to head coach Randy Carlyle. - Orange County Register

Carolina Hurricanes: Trevor Letowski has carved a place for himself on the Hurricanes' power-play. He saw five minutes of PP time in his first 11 games with the Hurricanes; he has seen 8:14 in the past four, including 2:49 Friday. - News Observer

Bret Hedican missed Friday's 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins with what the team described as a "lower-body injury" and is listed as day-to-day. Hurricanes' head coach Peter Laviolette said he expected Hedican to be available when the 'Canes return to the ice Tuesday against the Ottawa Senators. - News Observer

Dallas Stars:Jere Lehtinen (leg) and Brenden Morrow (groin) skated a full practice Thursday and are listed as probable for tonight. If they are both in, the Stars will probably take Loui Eriksson and Mathias Tjarnqvist out of the lineup. - Dallas Morning News

Minnesota Wild: Forwards Marian Gaborik (groin), Derek Boogaard (ankle), Jason Morgan (thigh), Pavol Demitra (head) and Wes Walz (hip) are out for their game against Columbus. - Star Tribune

Nashville Predators: Predators goalie Tomas Vokoun will undergo surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb on Monday and is expected to miss two to six weeks in recovery. Vokoun suffered the injury about halfway through the second period of Thursday's 6-0 win over Vancouver. He remained in net for the remainder of the second, but was replaced by goalie Chris Mason in the third. - Tennessean

Centre Josef Vasicek (back) and defenceman Mikko Lehtonen (concussion) have returned to practice but aren't expected to be ready for a game until next week. Right wing Scottie Upshall is sidelined with a strained groin. - Tennessean

New York Rangers: Right wing Jason Ward wore a yellow (non-contact) jersey in practice Friday, but he skated at full speed and will be available to to play Saturday. - Newsday

Pittsburgh Penguins: Sidney Crosby missed his second consecutive game Friday against the New York Islanders with a sore groin. Crosby, went out for warm-ups before the game and several times, he went to the bench to talk to head trainer Chris Stewart. "He tried and was not feeling 100 percent," coach Michel Therrien said. "He wasn't ready to play-hopefully, maybe (today vs. Rangers). It's a day-to-day thing." - Tribune Review

Evgeni Malkin was hit hard by Islanders' defenceman Brendan Witt in the game on Friday. Malkin went directly to the dressing room and didn't return. Head coach Michel Therrien said Malkin was hurt on the play, but that it wasn't his left shoulder. Although he wouldn't specify the nature of Malkin's injury, Therrien said he expected Malkin to play against the New York Rangers tonight at Mellon Arena. - Tribune Review

San Jose Sharks: For the first time since injuring his leg Nov. 15 against Colorado, forward Jonathan Cheechoo skated briefly with his teammates at Friday's practice before heading off for more treatments. Head coach Ron Wilson said he hopes to have Cheechoo back in the lineup sometime during the four-game trip that begins Tuesday in St. Louis. - Mercury News
