Updated Sunday, November 26
Colorado Avalanche: With Jordan Leopold expected to make it into the Avalanche lineup after recovering from hernia surgery, coach Joel Quenneville will have to make Ossi Vaananen or Patrice Brisebois a healthy scratch if everyone remains healthy. Pierre Turgeon (shoulder surgery) made a step forward in his recovery, in that he took faceoffs at practice for the first time Saturday. Turgeon probably is another couple of weeks away from returning, possibly a bit sooner. - Denver Post
Dallas Stars: The Stars sent LW Mathias Tjarnqvist on a 14-day conditioning assignment to the Iowa Stars of the American Hockey League. He does not have to pass through waivers and is expected to return to the Stars by Dec. 8. Rookie Mike Smith will be back on the bench as Marty Turco's backup on the Stars' upcoming road trip to Detroit, Chicago and Washington that begins Monday. - Dallas Morning News/Fort Worth Star Telegram
Florida Panthers: Defenceman Mike Van Ryn missed his second game in a row because of the flu. Van Ryn didn't make the trip to Atlanta, and could rejoin his teammates Sunday if a practice is scheduled. - Miami Herald
Nashville Predators: Centre Josef Vasicek returned to the lineup on Saturday night after missing the previous two games with back spasms. Defenceman Mikko Lehtonen, who has been out since suffering a concussion on Nov. 16 should be cleared on Monday after he sees a doctor. Lehtonen practiced Friday and participated in Saturday's morning skate. - The Tennessean
New York Islanders: Alexei Yashin's right knee took the worst of a knee-on-knee hit from Capitals forward Matt Bradley on Saturday. Yashin hobbled off the ice and didn't leave the bench until the final horn. An Islanders spokesman called it a bruised knee, adding Yashin will have an MRI Monday. "We'll see how he reacts the next couple of days," coach Ted Nolan said, not sounding terribly worried. - Newsday
New York Rangers: Coach Tom Renney said he would decide on the plane ride home Saturday night whether Henrik Lundqvist would return to the nets Sunday against Buffalo or if backup Kevin Weekes would get the call. - New York Post
Phoenix Coyotes: Forward Ladislav Nagy was a scratch before Saturday's game in St. Louis, and coach Wayne Gretzky said his status remains uncertain. Gretzky said that he's not convinced that Nagy is healthy after the knee injury he suffered last year. - Arizona Republic
