QUOTE
Updated Tuesday, November 28

Toronto Maple Leafs:
Forwards:
Wellwood - Sundin - Ponikarovsky
O'Neill - Stajan - Tucker
Battaglia - Peca - Antropov
Pohl - Steen - Kilger

Defence:
McCabe - kaberle
Kubina - Belak
White - Gill

Bell Suglobov are likely scratches tonight. Despite the Paul Mara/Darcy Tucker "challenges" in the papers the last couple of days, Paul Maurice thought the last game was relatively tame. Paul Mara is taking a wait and see approach. He says he would expect the Leafs to answer in kind if someone ran Sundin. Maurice also says he would prefer back-to-back games to be a home-and-home series. He feels that would add more intensity to the game than he is expecting tonight. Leaf players feel the intensity will be higher than Saturday's game by default. They are promising a better effort after a couple of days off and are looking for a quick start. Alex Steen is perhaps the happiest player demoted to a 4th line. He has no sense of disappointment and is looking forward to a move back to centre. Defenceman Jay Harrison has cleared waivers. - TSN

Ottawa Senators: Martin Gerber will get the start for the Senators against his former teammates in Raleigh tonight. It will be Gerber's first start in eight games. The game against the Hurricanes wraps up Ottawa's 4-game road trip, they are 2-1 so far. Anton Volchenkov is still questionable for the tonight's game (lower body). - TSN

Anaheim Ducks: Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere went through a full practice Monday and pronounced himself fit to play Tuesday night against the Edmonton Oilers. - LA Times

Atlanta Thrashers: Thrashers defenseman Andy Sutton, who plays on the team's top pairing, did not travel to New York for tonight's game with the Rangers after injuring a leg when he collided with teammate Steve Rucchin in practice Monday. The Thrashers did not offer a preliminary diagnosis but expected to know more today. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

Boston Bruins: The Bruins are down to six healthy defensemen, as they waived Nathan Dempsey yesterday and Lewis announced that Jason York has a lower-body injury and will not play tonight. Dempsey has cleared waivers and will go to the AHL. - Boston Globe/TSN

Colorado Avalanche: Jose Theodore, who won both his starts last week, will start in goal for Colorado tonight against Calgary. - Rocky Mountain News

Chicago Blackhawks: Craig MacDonald has cleared waivers. - TSN

Dallas Stars: Stars defenseman Trevor Daley has been placed on the seven-day injured reserve retroactive to Friday with a concussion he suffered in the Stars' 5-3 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Friday. - Dallas Morning News

Detroit Red Wings: Jason Williams is out indefinitley after suffering a charley horse Monday night against Dallas. Tests on Johan Franzen's left knee have revealed damage to his medial collateral ligament. He will be out for at least a week. - Detroit Free Press

Florida Panthers: Mike Van Ryn skated Monday after missing two games because of the flu. He is expected to play tonight. However, coach Jacques Martin said Juraj Kolnik would not make the trip to Montreal and Ottawa because of a sore groin. - Miami Herald

Los Angeles Kings: On Monday, Mathieu Garon started his third consecutive game for the first time this season. He appears to have taken hold of the number one goalie job. - Orange County Register

Minnesota Wild: The Wild received a shot of positive energy Monday when Marian Gaborik briefly joined them for practice for the first time in 39 days. He did shooting drills. Gaborik, who has been out for over a month, has not been cleared for contact drills. - Pioneer Press

New Jersey Devils: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said right winger Cam Janssen will have an MRI on his separated right shoulder today. "The doctors wanted to wait," Lamoriello said. "The X-rays didn't show anything. He could be out a week or it could be four weeks. We don't know." The Devils also placed Alexander Brooks on waivers. - Star Ledger/TSN

New York Islanders: With Alexei Yashin out, Ted Nolan plans to use Viktor Kozlov to fill the captain's roles on the top line with Jason Blake and Chris Simon and on the first power-play unit.- Star Ledger

Phoenix Coyotes: Forwards Mike Comrie (foot) and Steven Reinprecht (clavicle) skated Monday for the first time since being injured in separate games earlier this season. Though not likely, Comrie might play Thursday vs. Los Angeles or Monday vs. Nashville. Reinprecht is still at least a month away from returning. - Arizona Republic

Phoenix Coyotes: Coach Wayne Gretzky said left wing Ladislav Nagy would be back in the lineup on Thursday after a one-game benching last week. Centers Mike Comrie (foot) and Steven Reinprecht (clavicle) skated Monday for the first time since being injured in separate games earlier this season. Though not likely, Comrie might play Thursday vs. Los Angeles or Monday vs. Nashville. Reinprecht is still at least five weeks away from returning. - Arizona Republic

Pittsburgh Penguins: Sidney Crosby went through a full practice with his teammates on Monday for the first time since injuring his groin a week earlier against the Philadelphia Flyers. But he won't know whether or not he'll be able to play tonight against the New York Islanders until he gives it another test this morning. Michel Ouellet is not going to play tonight, and may miss another week with a leg injury. The Penguins experiments with Mark Recchi manning the point on their powerplay in practice yesterday. - Tribune Review

St. Louis Blues: Blues defensemen Jay McKee (fractured finger) and Matt Walker (groin strain) are practicing again and Mike Kitchen said both could return as early as Thursday against Nashville. Manny Legace starts in goal against San Jose. - Belleville News Democrat

Washinton Capitals: Right wing Richard Zednik is questionable for tonight's game. He left Saturday's game in New York with a lower body injury in the second period and did not return. Although he didn't practice yesterday, he will go out for the pregame skate this morning and will be a game-time decision. - Washington Post
