Toronto Maple Leafs: Forward Nik Antropov turned his ankle at practice today and left the ice. He will stay behind when the team leaves for Boston but could rejoin them if he gets medical clearance. - TSN
Ottawa Senators: Defenceman Wade Redden, who's been listed as day-to-day with a chest/shoulder injury, didn't travel with the team to Washington for tonight's game. He skated Tuesday in Ottawa but took today off from the ice. - TSN
Vancouver Canucks: It looks like coach Alain Vigneault is going to break up the Canucks top line. Naslund skated with Brendan Morrison and Jan Bulis, while Ryan Kesler joined the Sedins during practice Tuesday. "I think right now we're probably going to split them up, but we are not on the ice again until Thursday, so I've got until Thursday to think this through," Vigneault said of Naslund and the Sedins. The other lines in practice were Marc Chouinard between Tyler Bouck and Alex Burrows and Tommi Santala centreing Matt Cooke and Trevor Linden. - Vancouver Sun
New Jersey Devils: Martin Brodeur will start his 19th straight game in goal tonight against Montreal. Last season he played 31 games in a row from Dec. 31 to March 23. Facing the Canadiens still is meaningful to the Montreal native. "It's special," Brodeur said. "For sure the first few years was a little different, but my nephew goes to school in downtown Montreal and gets ripped (about his uncle). If I'm able to win a game he can hold his head up until next time." - Star Ledger
New Jersey Devils: Defenceman Richard Matvichuk has not yet been medically cleared to play, but is getting closer following offseason back surgery. - New York Daily News
Philadelphia Flyers: Peter Forsberg will not be at practice today, but he is expected to join the team tomorrow and play Friday in New Jersey. - Philadelphia Daily News
Philadelphia Flyers: Flyers defenceman Mike Rathje visited a back specialist in Seattle yesterday, according to team trainer Jim McCrossin. Rathje saw Stanley Herring, a physician for the NFL's Seattle Seahawks, hoping to discover the origin of pain in his lower right buttock. - Philadelphia Inquirer
Pittsburgh Penguins: According to a team spokesman, there was nothing new on the John LeClair situation on Tuesday. General manager Ray Shero, who was at the board of governors meetings in Florida yesterday, spoke to LeClair yesterday and they plan to talk again today. - Tribune Review
Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche placed forward Cody McCormick on waivers today. The team's 5th round (144th overall) draft pick in 2001 has played six games this season, recording one assist. - TSN
New York Islanders: Add the name of Trent Hunter, the Islanders' top defensive forward, to that of leading scorer Alexei Yashin on the injured list. Hunter will be out two to four weeks with a sprained knee, the club announced yesterday. - Newsday
Boston Bruins: Defenceman P.J. Axelsson, who's missed the last two games, underwent an MRI yesterday to determine whether there is structural damage in his bruised left foot. The results were not expected until today. According to Neil Abbott, Axelsson's agent, Axelsson felt better yesterday but is still sore. - Boston Globe
Florida Panthers: Panthers forward Todd Bertuzzi has received medical clearance to resume light skating, perhaps as soon as today. But it could be awhile before he is allowed to suit up in a game. Bertuzzi played in the Panthers' first seven games before undergoing back surgery in early November. He is cleared only to skate for "balance and body awareness" and is not yet ready to practice with the team... Centre Joe Nieuwendyk was examined by a back specialist in Cleveland last week, but the Panthers have set no timetable for his return. "It's probably too early to say," coach Jacques Martin said. "We'll wait and see how he feels this week and, hopefully, there's some improvement." Martin said Nieuwendyk, 40, who has played in only 15 of the Panthers' 29 games, continues to experience back spasms. - Miami Herald
Florida Panthers: Winger Juraj Kolnik will miss his seventh consecutive game tonight at Pittsburgh because of a pulled groin, but said he felt increased power in his legs during drills with assistant coach George Kingston after Monday's practice, which he sat out. Kolnik hopes to return Thursday against Buffalo. - Sun Sentinel
Los Angeles Kings: Goaltender Mathieu Garon did a slide drill Monday to test his injured groin and felt little improvement.... Defenceman Brent Sopel, out because of broken bones in his ankle and hand, skated Tuesday and hopes to rejoin the team for practice in a week. - Los Angeles Times
Phoenix Coyotes: Mike Comrie practiced on Tuesday and is expected to return to the Coyotes' lineup Saturday against Dallas. "We're taking him on the trip so he can get some conditioning and more practice," coach Wayne Gretzky said. "He hasn't had any body contact and hasn't skated a whole lot for the past four weeks, but after two or three days he should be there." Comrie has missed the past 12 games due to a fractured right foot. - Arizona Republic/Phoenix Gazette
Minnesota Wild: Pavol Demitra is expected to play Thursday against Calgary. Demitra has missed seven games with a concussion. - Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune
Dallas Stars: Brenden Morrow skated on Tuesday but is doubtful for tonight's game against Phoenix. The same is true for Antti Miettinen and Eric Lindros. Morrow has been out with a groin injury, while Miettinen has a "lower body" injury and Lindros has a foot injury. - Fort-Worth Star Telegram
Dallas Stars: Former Star's captain Mike Modano may play tonight after experiencing a hip/groin injury midway through the Stars' 1-0 win over San Jose on Monday. "It settled down a lot [Tuesday], so we'll just have to see in the morning," Modano said of his injury. "I don't want to push it too hard and rush back too fast, but, at the same time, if it's ready, then I'll go." Darryl Sydor and Trevor Daley should also return to the lineup tonight. - Dallas Morning News
Anaheim Ducks: Forward Teemu Selanne, who missed practice Monday night because of flu symptoms, is expected to play tonight when Nashville comes to town. This is great news since he has been on fire over the last month, being named the NHL's first star of November. Selanne, tied for fourth in the NHL with 34 points, also had a bout with flu at the start of the season... Any fears that Ilya Bryzgalov or the Ducks had about the injured goaltender were allayed somewhat when no tear was found in his strained groin after an MRI exam Monday. Bryzgalov did not skate Tuesday and is day-to-day after leaving in the third period of Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Kings. The Ducks figure to take a wait-and-see approach with the 26-year-old backup as they recalled Michael Wall from their minor league affiliate in Portland, Maine... The Ducks will honour captain Scott Niedermayer's 1,000 games played with a short ceremony before tonight's game. - Los Angeles Times
Columbus Blue Jackets: Nikolai Zherdev missed Tuesday's game with what is now being called a shoulder injury. He is considered day-to-day... Ole-Kristian Tollefsen will undergo a neurological exam today or Thursday to rule out a concussion. Defenceman Tollefsen did not play last night but said his head was feeling much less cloudy than earlier in the week. "Clear as the Norwegian air" is he how he put it. Tollefsen took a blow to the head against Edmonton. - Columbus Post-Dispatch
Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks are interested in bringing back forward Kyle Calder. Calder was traded from Chicago to Philadelphia over the summer. ''You never know, but there's been no talk about it,'' Hawks general manager Dale Tallon said. Calder has struggled in Philadelphia, recording only three assists and a -17 rating in 24 games. - Chicago Sun-Times

Blocked a shot, went down, stayed down, barely got back up, got hit with ANOTHER shot. Limped, barely, over to the bench. Got a nice ovation for his efforts.

Did Kolzig change his name?
I remember his name being "Olaf Kolzig"... when did it become "Olie"?
He's also referred to as Olie the Goalie
I thought Olie the Goalie was his nickname.... But the commentators were calling him Olie?

"It was in the heat of the moment and I would take it back if I could," said Schaefer.
"I didn't even think about it until after the game, when I looked at my cellphone and I had five text messages from my buddies. That's when I realized, 'Oh, great. The game was on TSN.'''
...
McAmmond also didn't understand what he said to receive the unsportsmanlike call.
"I think (Pollock) must have thought I said something else. How could I get an unsportsmanlike conduct call for not swearing?
"I've never sworn at a referee, I've never called them a -- well, I don't know if that's true."
