Well Markus Naslund is the new face of ea's NHL 2005 . I hope sooner or later they will put Fed's pic on the new ea hockey game that will come out later.

ESPN NHL 2005 is supposed to be released in November.
As Shadow could tell you, the Franchise Mode is really deeper now. Well, they say it is.

Apparently you can watch video of prospects playing and put them through drills to test various abilities before you even draft them. Gamespot lists ESPN NHL 05 as coming out 9/7/04. Have you seen something else?

We had the NHL Game for the computer a few years ago, havn't seen any updated versions out here.

*Real-life bench positions (which side the home team sits on) are back. With the reverse camera option, so players can choose whether to always go up or down in any period, we will now have the authenticity of each arena without being forced to skate a certain direction depending on arena and period.

*The Xbox version will feature 3D crowds and custom soundtracks.

*Franchise mode uses real dollars instead of points this year.

*Franchise also includes a minor leaugue system, player scouting, and the ability to hire a coaching staff.

*Intense Contact Controls™ let you use the right analog stick to hook, slash, and more. The system is really meant to be a defensive tool, and if you aren't careful or push it too far, you'll end up doing something more severe and draw a penalty. In the E3 build, shoving was also contextually implemented. They are working out the specifics of the controls, from the proximity of players using the new moves to how long you hold the buttons to get the game to react in certain ways to the controls.

*Full Stick Control lets you use the right analog to control the full movement of your stick. You can use this while skating backwards to sweep your stick back and forth and fill passing lanes.

*There will be separate sliders for each type of penalty (including Penalty Shots) and more Interference calls.

*Line change menus are smaller and no longer remain on screen for too long.

*Some of the biggest focus this year is on "better goalies, all new defensive options, blown out online play, the new fighting engine, revamped Franchise mode, and improving gameplay."

*You can control all 30 teams.

*1 for 0 trades are also back.

*There will also be a reversible camera angle option this year.

*Camera zoom is back.

*The injury slider will return in franchise mode.
Also alluded to, but not definitively confirmed:
The ability to scout players by actually watching them skate on the ice and perform specific drills.

*The ability to edit your coaching staff, renaming them to the real NHL coaches

I'm deffinetely getting this game
Cuz I already beat the Dynasty mode in NHL 2004
