Who will it be? An expected player? Or a out of the blue player?
I really dont know who the award will go to this year....its tough.
Maybe Phil Kessel (if hes back)? or Guillaume Latendresse?
This year is a toss up in my opinion.

If Penner gets REALLY hot... he could be a contender. He's sitting at 4th among rookies right now. But I think Malkin will get it.

Malkin or Kopitar
Penner has an outside chance if he jsut goes on a tear
it will also help if the Ducks end up as #1 in the league for the rest of the year
but my rankings right now
1. Malkin
2. Penner
3. Kopitar
jsut as a factor of stats, style points, and team success

Malkin or Kopitar. Penner has an outside chance, but Carle, San Jose's defensman, is supposed to be pretty good and may get a look. Also, Radulov, the Preds rookie, has been tearing it up ever since he was recalled. He's played in only 18 games, and he already has 10 goals.

It's Malkin or Kopitar... Penner would have to go on a hell of a scoring spree to get noticed

It's going to be Malkin or Kopitar. Rookies on elite teams like Penner, don't stand a chance.

1.) Malkin
2.) Kopitar
Oddly, those two have been on a cold streak as of late. I think where Pittsburgh goes is what will determine Malkin winning it....
If Kopitar is an MVP-type with the Kings and scores a lot, he will get the Calder.

I hate to say it, but Kopitar.

yup it does suck that he is a king...
but its hard to deny his natural ability....
he has gone a long way toward carrying the kings...
and carrying the kings is a hell of an accomplishment for a rookie cinsidering the short list of players who have done it previously
