Across Canada:

The Latest on the Senators Practice Lines
After a complete day of on Wednesday, Bryan Murray put the Sens through a fast paced, hour long practise followed by 10 minutes of hard skating on Thursday. Part of it was spent working on a four- man cycle - getting one of the D-men involved. Ray Emery is one of four goalies to be in the top 10 in all 4 major goaltending categories: 2.42 GAA (10th); .921 SV% (6th); 22 Wins (10th); 4 SO (t-5th). With 22 healthy bodies, it is expected the Sens will make a roster move soon. Denis Hamel appears to be the odd-man out. The Sens are expected to place the 4th line winger on waivers and, if he clears, will send him to Binghamton of the AHL.

Odds and Ends: The Sens are 17-3 when Dany Heatley scores. The Sens are 13-3-1 in their last 17 games. Jan 30th vs Washington was the 1st time this season that Spezza, Heatley and Alfredsson all scored in the same game. The trio, which has 69 goals this season, managed the feat four times last season. Ottawa ranks 3rd in the league in 5-on-5 goals with 113 (Buffalo is 1st with 127). Ottawa is 7-2-1 at home in it's last 10. The Sens are 23-6-2 when scoring first. Twelve of Ottawa's 23 losses have been by one goal.

Notes vs Toronto: Ottawa is 4-1-0 vs the Leafs. Since the start of 05-06 season, the Sens have won 11 of 13 vs Toronto, outscoring them 60-32. Alfredsson has 44 points in 48 career games against Toronto. Heatley has 46 points in 21 games against Toronto. Spezza has 27 points in 19 games against Toronto. Emery is 3-1-0 with a 3.04 GAA against Toronto and Gerber is 3-3-0 with a 3.33 GAA against Toronto. - TSN

Around The League:

The Latest from Anaheim
Scott Niedermayer, who sat out the last two games because of a stress fracture in his right foot, could return to the lineup as early as Tuesday when the Ducks play at San Jose. - LA Times

The Latest from Atlanta
Defenseman Vitaly Vishnevski was a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game Thursday night. Until Tuesday, he had played in every game this season for the Thrashers, but Andy Sutton's return has raised the competition for playing time for the eight defensemen on the roster. - Atlanta Journal Constitution

The Latest from Boston
Marco Sturm, who had his face bloodied by defenceman Henrik Tallinder's stick late in Thursday's loss, did not practice Friday and didn't make the trip to Carolina for Saturday's game against the Hurricanes. Sturm, one of two Bruins who didn't practice (David Krejci was the other), had several teeth loosened. Sturm also didn't feel well, prompting the Bruins to evaluate him for a concussion. Krejci, who suffered a concussion Tuesday, didn't skate but worked out before practice. He did not travel with the team. - Boston Globe

The Latest from Carolina
The Hurricanes activated defenseman Bret Hedican Thursday after a 12-game stint on the injured reserve list. Hurricanes forward Erik Cole started alongside linemates Rod Brind'Amour and Ray Whitney after missing Tuesday's game with a lower body bruise. - News Observer

The Latest from Chicago
Defenceman Adrian Aucoin practiced Friday, and cpach Denis Savard said he expected him to play Saturday against the Sharks. - Chicago Tribune

The Latest from Colorado
John-Michael Liles is projected to return to the lineup by next Sunday when the Avalanche travel to Dallas. He did not participate in practice on Friday and is scheduled to have his foot reexamined on Monday to check his progress. Brad May is also expected to return to the Colorado lineup around the same time as Liles. Peter Budaj is the probable goaltender Saturday night to start for Colorado against the Oilers.- Rocky Mountain News

The Latest from Dallas
Defenceman Philippe Boucher (lower-body injury) will test his injury at today's morning skate and will be a game-time decision. - Dallas Morning News

The Latest from Florida
Todd Bertuzzi said Friday that his return to the Panthers is imminent, and that as soon as he goes through a few practices without pain, he'll be back in the lineup. "I'm clear for contact right now. I'm just going to play it by ear and see how it is throughout the week," Bertuzzi said after practice Friday. "When I know I'm ready-whether it's two days from now, four days from now or two weeks-I'll be back." Left wing Gary Roberts, out since Jan. 2 because of a torn hip muscle, could return Tuesday at Colorado, head coach Jacques Martin said. - Miami Herald/Palm Beach Post

The Latest from Minnesota
- Defenceman Petteri Nummelin did not practice Friday. Instead, he flew back to the Twin Cities, where his wife, Riina, has been tending to their three sick kids. He is expected back in time for Saturday's morning skate and to play in tonight's game against the Phoenix Coyotes. Manny Fernandez continues to treat a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. "Manny's the same," coach Jacques Lemaire said. "He's out." - Pioneer Press

The Latest from San Jose
Rookie forward Joe Pavelski, who missed his first game Thursday since being promoted from the minors, will probably be a game-time decision for Saturday's matinee against Chicago. He hurt his foot when he blocked a shot Tuesday. Defenceman Kyle McLaren practiced Friday for the first time since undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. Right wing Steve Bernier skated briefly for the first time since breaking his big toe Jan.14. He isn't expected to play for several weeks. - Mercury News/Oakland Tribune

The Latest from Washington
Although Capitals coach Glen Hanlon wouldn't reveal his revamped lineup on defense, newly acquired Milan Jurcina and Shaone Morrisonn (former Bruins teammates) skated together throughout practice, leading to speculation they'll be paired together against Sidney Crosby. - Washington Post

rofl.gif I was told I'm not allowed to meet Marty St. Louis because the fact that I am so much taller than him would demoralize him and shatter his fragile confidence laugh.gif Either that, or I would make fun of him and get beaten up tongue.gif

Ahhh, I see said the blind girl.

First you're dying, then you're blind, and this all on top of your inability to multitask this morning. Did you have something to do with the Ducks not playing well tonight??? bigwink.gif
