The Latest on the Maple Leafs
Darcy Tucker is finally off crutches and ready to hit the road with the Maple Leafs. It could be a week or longer before the right winger is able to resume playing, the cracked bones in his left foot have progressed to the point that he tossed away the crutches yesterday. Tucker will have an MRI tomorrow and is planning to accompany the team when it leaves on a three-game trip that begins on Long Island on Thursday. - Toronto Star

The Penguins, riding a 14-0-2 surge that vaulted them up the Eastern Conference standings, got three goals from Ryan Malone, two from Mark Recchi and four assists from NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby, but couldn't survive shaky goaltending by Marc-Andre Fleury.
