Across Canada:
The Latest on the Flames
From Monday: Craig Conroy, who is suffering from an upper body injury, didn't travel with the team to Colorado. He did skate briefly today and said he felt a lot better, but he doesn't want to rush it. He may catch up with the team tomorrow and play in Dallas in on Thursday. Darren McCarty has also been skating for a week. He's been out with a sports hernia. - TSN
The Latest on the Canadiens
Forward Alex Kovalev will miss tonight's game against the Islanders. Kovalev is suffering from vertigo, which apparently was brought on by the virus he is suffering from. He will see the doctor Tuesday afternoon. Forward Radek Bonk, who is also suffering from the flu, is a game-time decision. David Aebischer will get the call in goal for the Canadiens tonight, and head coach Guy Carbonneau plans to stick with him through season's end. Alexander Perezhogin is still suffering concussion-like-symptoms. Josh Gorges will likely be in the lineup, making his home debut at the Bell Centre. - TSN/RDS

The Latest on the Maple Leafs
Defenceman Tomas Kaberle skated briefly on his own before the Maple Leafs took the ice. He says he hasn't been experiencing any headaches, but he just doesn't "feel like himself." He will be assessed by team doctors again Wednesday, which will help determine how much more he can exert himself on and off the ice. Based on how he felt, he says he would likely skate again Wednesday. - TSN

The Canucks held an optional morning skate and spent more time on special teams. Willie Mitchell will not play Tuesday night, out one to two games with a groin strain. Rory Fitzpatrick goes back in after being a healthy scratch for seven games. The team has also recalled centre Nathan Smith from Manitoba. He will replace Tommy Santala on the fourth line. Santala will miss one or two games with a shoulder injury. Matthias Ohlund and Kevin Bieksa will be matched up against Marian Gaborik's line. - TSN

The Latest on the Senators
From Monday: Defenceman Anton Volchenkov was wearing a full wire cage Monday morning as a result of suffering a broken nose in Saturday night's game against the Leafs. While these were the lines in practice, don't expect them to be that way tonight. Christoph Schubert will likely play on the fourth line. Where the others fit - namely Patrick Eaves and Oleg Saprykin - will be determined Tuesday. Stats FYI: Ray Emery is 2-1-0 vs. the Rangers this season with a 2.01 GAA and one shutout SO, Daniel Alfredsson has 16 goals and 29 assists in 40 career games against New York, while Dany Heatley has 12 goals and 26 points in 18 career games. - TSN

Around The League:
The Latest from Carolina
With Cam Ward expected to miss at least a week after suffering a knee injury Sunday, the Carolina Hurricanes will turn the net over to John Grahame beginning Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers. The Canes also recalled rookie goalie Craig Kowalski, 26, from Florida (ECHL) to serve as Grahame's backup. Kowalski practiced with the team during the playoffs last spring but has yet to play in an NHL game. - News Observer
The Latest from Dallas
Defenceman Mattias Norstrom is rehabilitating his knee, but the Stars are being cautious. LW Brenden Morrow has been cleared for full-contact practice. - Dallas Morning News
The Latest from Detroit
Mike Babcock doesn't expect any of the injured Wings to return Tuesday night. Johan Franzen and Danny Markov remain out with upper-body injuries. Dan Cleary skated Monday for the first time since suffering an injured MCL Feb. 23 and is expected to begin practicing with the team this week. Goaltender Chris Osgood will start tonight, and Dominik Hasek will start Wednesday. - Detroit Free Press/Detroit News
The Latest from Minnesota
Coach Jacques Lemaire is non-committal on when he will start Manny Fernandez in goal. "There's always a time for this; it's going to come," Lemaire said when asked if he would like to play Fernandez during the three-game Canadian trip that starts tonight in Vancouver. "There will be a time when, as an example, the team is playing well and Colorado's really out of it, and we've got nothing to gain, you know? There will be a situation." Fernandez hasn't started since he aggravated a sprain to the MCL in his left knee in a victory Jan. 30 at St. Louis. - Pioneer Press
The Latest from Nashville
Forward Steve Sullivan, who has missed Nashville's last seven games, participated in a full practice yesterday for the first time since suffering back spasms, but is still doubtful tonight. Centre Peter Forsberg practiced on Monday and didn't rule out playing tonight, but he didn't sound as if returning to the lineup was a certainty either. He's missed the past four games with an upper-body injury. "It's getting better," Forsberg said. "I don't know for (Tuesday) yet. We'll see. But it's definitely going in the right direction." - Nashville Tennessean
The Latest from New York Islanders
Alexei Yashin (knee) has been easing his way back on the ice since returning from a five-week injury absence. "I didn't want to give him too many minutes in his first game," coach Ted Nolan said. "I thought he played much better last game than he did the first game." As for keeping Yashin on the second line with Miroslav Satan and Viktor Kozlov, Nolan said Yashin is talented enough to help any line he skates with. - New York Newsday
The Latest from New York Rangers
Brendan Shanahan, who will miss his 12th straight game Tuesday night recovering from a concussion, skated for the first time Monday. Shanahan, who has increased his workout regimen over the last four days, skated on his own for approximately a half-hour while the Rangers had the day off. There is no timetable for a return. - New York Post
The Latest from Philadelphia
Simon Gagne's MRI on his groin, hip and abdominal area was negative. He has mild left hip flexor strain - not a groin pull. Gagne will skate with the AHL's Phantoms this week, with the possibility of playing Thursday against Atlanta. - Philadelphia Inquirer
The Latest from Phoenix
Defenceman Keith Ballard did not play Monday night because of flu-like symptoms. Forward Bill Thomas, who left Saturday's game after absorbing a high, hard check from Chicago Blackhawks forward David Koci, did not play as a precaution. Right wing Fredrik Sjostrom was a healthy scratch. - Arizona Republic
The Latest from Pittsburgh
Georges Laraque did not practice Monday because of back spasms, and he may not play Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres. Assistant coach Andre Savard said he expects goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to start, but he wanted to wait for Michel Therrien's return before giving a definitive answer. - Pittsburgh Tribune Review
The Latest from San Jose
Forward Mark Bell will return to the Sharks' lineup tonight against, his former team, the Blackhawks. He will play on a line with Patrick Marleau and Bill Guerin. - Mercury News
The Latest from Tampa Bay
Defenceman Paul Ranger had an MRI exam on his left knee at a Calgary clinic. Trainer Tommy Mulligan said the test confirmed a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament. No surgery is required, and Ranger is expected to be out four to six weeks. - St. Petersburg Times

Not even tossing five catfish onto the ice for good luck helped the Predators. They got Erat's goal to pull close, but he had to be helped off the ice after colliding with teammate Jason Arnott late in the third.

Not a good game for the Trash. They get a rare loss at home, give up a goal off of one of their own players' skates, and Arnott and Erat run into each other.
