(Calgary has the defense, but so does Detroit. Plus Detroit has more offensive options)
Vancouver 4-2 over Dallas
(Luongo...nuff said. Turco flops in the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith make an appearance)
San Jose 4-2 over Nashville
(Nashville has injuries and SJ is playing tough)

I really don't want to run up against Detroit, they are the only ones that make me crazy right now. Could Calgary pull an upset? It's not like an underdog doesn't pull one off in the playoffs every year. We shall see, we shall see.
Oh yeah, Vancouver over Dallas. (that would be nice)

Pffft....
Calgary in 6. Detroit tends to choke this time of year.
Vancouver in 5. So does Dallas...
San Jose in 7. Nashville doesn't choke... They get injured, lol.... Tough series, too...

Calgary over Detroit in 7
Vancouver over Dallas in 6: I'm not super impressed with either team apart from their goaltending, and who knows how Luongo will do in the playoffs, but my guess is playoff Luongo > playoff Turco
Nashville over San Jose in 7: great series, great matchups, two of the best in the league right here; whoever wins, either they'll be battle tested and get to the Western finals, or they'll have killed themselves and lose in 4/5 the next series

Calgary in 7, not sure why, i see a Motor City choke coming
(6) Dallas at (3) Vancouver
Vancouver in 5, Turco Playoff Choke... as usual
(5) SJS at (4) Nashville
Nashville in 6... i just like Nashville's O vs. SJ's D, but Nashville is going to come out of it crippled with injuries

But when preparing for the playoffs, coaches want moxie more than magic, and grit more than guile. When push comes to shove, they want the guy who understands that a shove can be as vital as a goal. Even in the new NHL, toughness hasn't gone out of style for the postseason.
...
"It's got nothing to do with fighting," says Colorado Avalanche forward Ian Laperriere. "In playoff time, everybody hits and guys who don't hit in the regular season are finishing their checks."
...
"A guy doesn't have to be a big hitter to be gritty," Anaheim Ducks general manager Brian Burke says. "There are players that I would properly define as gritty who aren't aggressive players themselves."
