Not sure if this is the place to put it, but this person (I can't figure out whether the name's male or female) made a comparison between NHL and the other sports using Game 5 as an example. So in a way, it is Duck related.

QUOTE
The Spurs game had 50 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, with the Jazz down by about 8 or 10 points. I watched for about two minutes, but the clock only moved about fifteen seconds. There must have been a few fouls, and a few layups. The announcers were talking in normal voices. That's great and all, but isn't this the Conference championships? Where is the drama?

NBA and NFL suck big time, NHL is so much more exciting, NFL is to slow and in NBA the last minute of play goes for about half an hour, it sucks. I hate when i watch sports talk shows, they never speak about NHL

i agree...
i am a hockey, baseball, and soccer fan....
i know that most people hate baseball..but watever...
ok...

so, NFL is kind of slow, but i love the strategy on playing.....but the game pace still slows.

NBA, i just don't like it...in NBA, they don't play to score...the time determines the game... they pretty much keep scoring, and determine whether at the end, the time will end in their favor or the opponents. where's the battle.....and then towards the end, the coaches will call so many time outs, and the game will be stopped so many times and get boring...the score is also too many, once i watched basketball game..i caught up with the action, and i forgot what the score....just not my thing...

baseball..i just love playing it since i was little..i think that's y i like it.
soccer, i love it...
hockey, full of intensity, adrenaline, drama...it's a "war on ice". like on game 4 between ducks and red wings...the last 8 minutes of the game feels like 1 hour..the intensity and pace of the game was just superb...

i think football is great, it's my 2nd favorite sport. true, there are pauses between the action, but i think it's the only other major league sport that matches the true speed and physicality of hockey. and like mockingduck said, the strategies are exciting.

NBA, still fun to watch, but it's a distant third for me.

neither sport can compare when it comes to the postseason, however. the NHL playoffs are in a league of its own.

who ever wrote that is right, if NHL just had more media coverage it would become popular...i think that hockey is easier to learn then football...because i tried learning both, and the one i learn easier is now my favorite sport.
