This is not a discussion thread and I wish that no sens fans will reply to this because you probably are of a different opinion then Ducks fans.
PETITION:
We, the regular users and members of allducks.com message boards, would like to request the immediate removal of NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell from office. We are of the opinion that he has been an inconsistent and cocky officer of the NHL rules. This is particularly evident in Game 3 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals when he allowed a goal by Daniel Alfredsson that was kicked in by Alfredsson's left skate. We firmly disagree with this call and feel like this call changed the complexion of this game in a manner that benefited the Ottawa Senators. Campbell also refused to respect Brian Burke in his attempt to get a hearing for Chris Neil's vicious elbow and cross-check to the cranium of Andy McDonald, a player with a history of concussions. The manner in which he refused to listen to Mr. Burke shows that Mr. Campbell is an inconsiderate and biased person and shouldn't be allowed to have an effect on NHL games like he does today. We respectfully wish that Mr. Campbell be fired effective immediately.
Thank you,
Allducks.com

Please add your signatures as replies and I will add them to my petition online. If anyone knows how to send this to the league I will be happy to do that via email. Please note that this thread should not be used for Colin Campbell bashing or referee bashing, it is simply to encourage the NHL to take a long hard look inside the disciplinary record of Colin Campbell and to determine whether they should fire him or not.
Thank you,
DFLF

Something you may want to add about the Alfredsson goal, is that two goals previously in this years playoffs, Crosby and Rachunek (sp?), had their goals disallowed and those two "kicks" were much less "distinct" than his was.

I think you should remove the word "cocky" as well. Although it's true, it might leave the wrong impression...

Once you get a link to the petition. Please post it here. I will spread the word as much as I can.

I think we need a petition to request the NHL's consistency, not to fire people. But if we have to fire someone to get this league to be consistent, then I'm all for it!! biggrin.gif

I'll sign the petition. We can't just sit back and let this unjustice be done to our Ducks. I mean what's the point of even watching the NHL anymore? What's the point of investing so much time, money, and emotions in this team if the league is out to get them? I'm being serious here. I've watched all 101 games this season/post season and what's the point in choosing to go on this journey of highs and lows with my favorite hockey team if they're going to get nailed in the end? They're not just hurting the Ducks players dreams, they're hurting us as well.

Well, I don't know where ducksfanforlife went, but I can try to spearhead this if you all would like. Here is what I've came up with. If I don't see any objections with this, I'll create the petition tonight.

QUOTE
To: The National Hockey League

We, fans of the NHL would ask that disciplinary actions be taken against the on-ice officiating crew from Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Ottawa Senators and the Anaheim Ducks, the video-replay judge(s), and Colin Campbell. The game took place on Saturday, June 2, 2007 and started at 8:00 PM EST. We the fans feel as if though the game was not officiated to NHL standards. The on-ice officiating crew, with the help of the video-replay judge, did a poor job at ensuring a fair game in the best-of-seven series. We also ask that NHL Senior Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell be relinquished from his duties. We do not feel as though Mr. Campbell can make an unbiased decision on disciplinary issues. We the fans, ask that you take the time to consider our requests.

The end will automatically get the following placed on it:

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

If no one has any objections within the next hour or so, I'll create it. Let me know what you all think.

We do not feel as though Mr. Campbell can make an unbiased decision on disciplinary issues. We feel as though Mr. Campbell has setup a double-standard in his decision process. He took action against the Mr. Pronger and suspended him for a single game. However, we feel as though he overlooked and under-judged the hit from Mr. Neil of the Ottawa Senators on Mr. McDonald of the Anaheim Ducks in the second period. We the fans, ask that you take the time to consider our requests and take the appropriate actions.

Alright, I took all suggestions that I had read and revised it accordingly. Someone mind looking it over again.

And Loops. I forgive you. No harm no foul. smile.gif
