Crosby takes home Ross, Lecavalier Richard Trophy
QUOTE
KANATA, Ontario -- While the NHL remains occupied with trying to find the best team in hockey through the Stanley Cup Final, some time was set aside Saturday to reward some of the League’s feats of individual excellence.
...
[Niklas] Backstrom capped an amazing first season by taking home two awards Saturday afternoon. He shared the William M. Jennings Trophy with teammate Manny Fernandez.
I guess they couldn't wait to hand them all out at the same time, so they did it in obscurity. Sounds like Bettman noexpression.gif rolleyes.gif Read More >>

Come on you guys, these awards are tallied and given pretty much the day after the regular season ends.

However, it would be funny if Luongo was on the loo during the Vezina presentation.

2007 NHL Awards, has it happened already?

on nhl.com it says it is on the 14th of June, but it already has the list of the winners of each award, whats going on?

The only reason it has Scott Niedermayer listed as the Conn Smythe winner is because he has already won that award lol. But most of the award winners listed are from last year. See it says Detroit won the Presidents trophy, but Buffalo is going to win it this year. Don't worry! There is a still a chance that Scott, Prongs, and Sammy could win a trophy!

fewww thanks for that, if pahlsson doesn't win the award he is nominated for then its a joke, and scotty or prongs deserve the defencemen award.

Thanks loops

I think the norris should go to Nieds or either Pronger, but I think Lidstrom will take it yet again.

However, I really want Pahlsson to win the selke trophy. Out of the three, Pahlsson stands out the most. He really deserves this because he hasn't won anything in his carreer yet. I think our checking line played one of, if not, the most important key to our success.

I don't care if Scott or Pronger wins the Norris Trophy. I'd be happy for either one. I just want one of them to win instead of Lidstrom-again rolleyes.gif

I will be surprised if Pahlsson wins. The voting was decided before the playoffs. Had it been AFTER the playoffs then Pahlsson would win hands down. If he doesn't win it this year, you can almost be certain he'll win it next year.

Sammy was playing some outstanding hockey before the playoffs even started, yeah he lifted another level in the playoffs, but i reckon he did enough during the regular season to get the award.

ducks4cup, sammy hasn't won anything in his career yet? where were you last week when he was lifting the stanley cup lol

Yeah cause no one cares about that 35 lbs. of silver he's been seen carrying around with him.

I don't understand why Crosby, Vinny and the Wild goaltenders got their awards early. I know it's decided when the regular season is over but why?

the ones who got their awards early weren't in competition with anyone else. They had already won the awards. My guess is this cuts down on the time of the show.

Teemu only missed the Rocket by 5 goals. But I think he would rather have Stanley's little masterpiece, don't you? He'll try for the Rocket next season! pray.gif

What a crock of !@#$%! First the show isn't even aired, and secondly, Pahlsson didn't get the Selke. rolleyes.gif mad.gif
