The window for the Dallas Stars to trade forward Bill Guerin is all but closed, as a clause in Guerin's contract gave the Stars 45 days to try and deal him once the Stanley Cup finals are over.

"It's been pretty unnerving, so I just want it to be over with," Guerin told the Dallas Moronig News. "I've made it clear I want to be with the Dallas Stars and I'm very much looking forward to next season."

Guerin said last month he would provide to Stars GM Doug Armstrong a list of teams he would be wiling to go to in a trade, however, he refused to mention who might be on the list.

"I want to stay in Dallas, but that may not be up to me," he said at the time.

The trade clause was negotiated as part of his deal two years ago because the Stars had been "burned" by no-trade clauses in the past. Guerin is still owed $25-million over the remaining three years of his contract. The Stars may have been be forced to pick up a portion of that salary in any deal.

Stars owner Tom Hicks said early this summer that changes would be made to the team's $44.5-million payroll following their ouster from the Stanley Cup playoffs in April.

With the window closed, he cannot be traded (without waiving his no-trade clause) until next summer.

Billy is going to leave Dallas and return to the Panthers to help them make the playoffs.

 Nobody but nobody want's a high priced player like "Billy Boy", the Stars are part of the problem with the high pay rolls so now they can just suffer!!! If all the fans have to suffer, no one I enjoy seeing flapping in the wind like the Stars.

I can just bet that they are now soooooo sorry they signed so many players who couldn't deliver for so much money. Hicks may just as well have flushed all that money down the toilet!!! yes.gif yes.gif yes.gif

What did he do last year? Nada!!! Why would they allow a whiner baby like him to be a leader? hmm.gif biggrin.gifx: :bbn: :jason:

But now, guerin has a no-trade option in his contract,so I think he will stay in Dallas.
