How about Teemu Selanne's 76 goals as a rookie with the Winnipeg Jets in 1992-93? Unless the NHL makes nets as big as soccer nets, you have to think Selanne will be the perennial benchmark for rookies to shoot for.

Its hard to contemplate such a record will ever be broken. Its hard enough to imagine how it was ever accomplished in the first place. Might as well set that baby in granite.
