NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CP) - The Nashville Predators re-signed forward Scott Hartnell and signed free-agent defenceman Andreas Lilja on Monday.
Hartnell, 22, of Lloydminster, Alta., will get slightly more than $1.3 million US in his fifth season with the NHL club after earning nearly $1.2 million last season when he was second on the team in goals with a career-high 18 despite missing 23 games due to injury.
Lilja, 29, a six-foot-three Swedish defenceman, was with the Florida Panthers before becoming an unrestricted free agent July 1. He signed for $750,000 US after making $600,000 last season.
Also re-signing were goalie Brian Finley of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., and American defenceman Andrew Hutchinson, both of whom helped Milwaukee win the AHL's Calder Cup.
