OPERATION: GET HAILI'S JERSEY

As some of you may have read on this board, a seven year old Ducks fan named Haili has been a huge fan of Drew Miller despite having health problems as of late. Her father is ALLDUCKS.com member, Todrick, and recently posted quite a story about his daughter and her "Drew Miller Bear" which has made the rounds at the Honda Center. You can read that story here.

Since it is the season of giving, the staff here at ALLDUCKS.com have decided to get Haili a personalized Drew Miller jersey for Christmas. Please keep this a surprise for Haili! We have Todrick's permission to proceed with this project. The donation information is located below in this post and the button is also here:

DTP has already agreed to go out and purchase the jersey.

T-SHIRT CONTEST

We will also being doing a T-Shirt Design Contest here for all our budding design team. This is your chance to get your T-Shirt Design to be a famous staple at some Ducks Home Games. This is a great way to bring awareness to both Haili and Drew.

The Rules for this Contest Are:

1.) Haili's picture cannot be on any design.
2.) Haili will choose the winning design, if she can only narrow it to to a few favorites, her parents will be the tie breakers
3.) Design must specifically root for Drew Miller.
4.) Haili will choose the charity of her choice that the proceeds go to.
5.) T-shirts must be designed for a white t-shirt!

This will be the front only design whereas the back will state the simple ALLDUCKS.COM. You can use anything for the front design as long as it does not include Haili's face or picture. You can use the teddy bear design, Drew's number, Ducks colors, kids' handwriting in crayons, etc.

Let's be creative!

Please post your designs in this thread. This contest will run until Wednesday, December 19, 2007 when the Ducks take on the Avalanche at home. We hope to have these t-shirts being shipped out to those who order them by the next home game on January 2nd, 2008 when the Ducks come home to take on the Blue Jackets.

T-SHIRT CONTEST CLOSED.

ORDER YOUR T-SHIRTS
Winning Design by a compliation of the ALLDUCKS.com COMMUNITY

You can order your t-shirt through this link: http://www.four50one.net/418/

THE FUNDS

Should the fund overflow after funding a jersey for young Haili, she will pick the charity of her choice to donate the rest of the money to per her family's request. This most likely will be a Ducks CARE or CHOC donation!

Haili will get her customized jersey as well as special recognition by fans at the Ducks games. We want to the Ducks and Drew to know that the fans have organized this project and let her have the spotlight while supporting her favorite player!

Please spread the word!

Special thanks to Duckbill for coming up with such a great idea and pledging the initial donation!

What a great idea, guys! I hope everyone who is able to finds it in them to help out to make this a christmas present Haili will remember forever. smile.gif

(Any chance one of our people with Ducks access might be able to smuggle it down to the locker room for a certain player's signature?)

that'd also be cool but I think it'd be better to get Haili down there to get it signed herself?

Awesome idea, I'll gladly pitch in. smile.gif Todrick, Haili's story really has touched everyone here.

I don't have paypal or anything, nor do I have the funds (Student Income) but if I can do something else, like write a letter or make a Ducks card I'd be happy to do that.

I made a few small edits also to update the original post.

Please keep this a SURPRISE for Haili. I'll let you folks know as soon as I get the jersey to Haili so you won't have to keep this a secret from her for very long.

Many thanks in advance for everyone's caring and generosity. With all this support, there's no doubt that Haili will make a speedy and complete recovery.

The nice thing about the t-shirt design contest is that the shirts will be ready after Christmas and after Haili gets her jersey. So yes, please keep it a surprise for her this Christmas as it should be a delight for her. We have been talking quite heavily with Todrick and his family on this and while he does not wish to publicly comment too much on it since he wants it to be about Haili and not anyone else.

Here is a rough draft of my first idea.

There is some stuff that looks like it needs touching up obviously, but that's all from when I shrunk it down since I am playing with the idea on Hi-res. I'm thinking about adding a hockey stick (I can't draw a helmet or skates good enough). I also have a black t shirt template this could be used on also.

Ok, a PayPal account has been set up specifically for donations for Haili's jersey. Any excess funds will go to the charity of Haili's choice. I plan on buying the jersey as soon as I can find one, regardless of when people start donating (just please don't wait too long since I'm sure my credit card bill will be huge enough next month wink.gif )

The PayPal button below should take you to the PayPal donation Web page. Let me know if something gets out of whack.

And for those of you without either PayPal or a credit card, but good old fashioned hard cash or check, PM me and we'll figure out something.

Thanks again to everyone for your enthusiasm and generosity. worshippy.gif
