RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 2, 2004) – Jim Rutherford, President / General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Bruno St. Jacques on a one-year contract. As per club policy, no other terms were announced.
“During his time with our organization, Bruno has shown that he can be a capable NHL defenseman,” said Rutherford. “He is one of the players we hope can continue to mature and become a fixture on our defense.”
St. Jacques, 23, played in 35 games with Carolina in 2003-04 after making the team out of training camp. The Montreal, Que., native was sidelined for 26 games last season, 25 due to an abdominal injury and one with a shoulder problem. St. Jacques also played six games with Lowell of the American Hockey League during a mid-season conditioning stint.

Opinion: I have always liked Bruno and I think he will become one of Carolina's top defensemen in the future. :tu:
