GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) - The Phoenix Coyotes on Monday re-signed one of the keys to their offense, inking restricted free agent left wing Ladislav Nagy to a two-year deal.

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the Arizona Republic is reporting the deal is worth $2.1 million in 2004-05 and $2.6 million the following season. Nagy had been scheduled to have an arbitration hearing Tuesday.

Nagy was among the NHL leaders in scoring with 24 goals and 28 assists last season before suffering a dislocated wrist against the St. Louis Blues on February 16. Despite missing the final 24 games of the season, he led the Coyotes with 11 power-play goals, six game-winners and a plus-minus rating of plus-11.

"Performing at a point-per-game clip last year until his untimely injury, Ladi's offensive skills speak for themselves," Coyotes general manager Michael Barnett said. "He is an important element to the entertainment package we are attempting to provide every night to our fans.

"It will be fun for them to see him continue to develop into a possible league All-Star. More importantly, he is going to contribute to us winning."

The Coyotes finished last in the Pacific Division with a record of 22-36-18-6.

The 25-year-old Nagy, who was traded to Phoenix along with Michal Handzus, Jeff Taffe and a first-round pick for Keith Tkachuk on March 13, 2001, has produced 174 points and a plus-34 rating in 266 NHL games.

The Coyotes are pursuing All-Star right wing Brett Hull to complement Nagy on a top line that already features center Mike Comrie.

with comrie and hull that will be one of the most dangerous lines in the whole nhl!!!

Look out boys, Nagy and Doan are back together!! They really are a pleasure to watch. Wish they weren't in the Western Conference though. :|

Nagy had a very good season till his imjury and I think he's a better player than Doan. But he and Doan have to show, what they can if the Coyotes want to have a chance for the playoffs.
