There is a new points system that some may have noticed. I installed this today because a few mods in the future here might require points.

Basically all you can do now is gather points unless you want to buy a lotto ticket. Each ticket costs 100 points, base winning jackpot is 1000 points. The more people go into the lotto, the more the winnings can be!

I did give all of you some points based on your current post count. I did a formula to get us all a reasonable amount of points. I have 2409 posts and only 803 points so that lotto winning is looking like something that i could use.

I also did give (for the holidays) an extra 50 points to EVERY member here.

For more extras that you can do is, click on the POINTS link under the banner. This includes a bank where you can bank points and earn a 10% interest rate on your points.

If you create a thread on the board, you get 3 points. If you respond to a thread, you get 5 points. Easy enough?

FOR ANYONE WHO ABUSES THE POINTS SYSTEM BY POSTING MORONIC POSTS/THREADS, WE WILL PUT YOU IN A GROUP THAT DOESN'T GET POINTS.

This is a way to semi-reward those who post regularly on these boards and entice others to post frequently as well.

Stay tuned because I will be adding a place to help pass time and where you can spend these hard earned points!

Oh and by the way, this point system does allow us to donate to one another as well as allow us to do some graphical contests with an ALLDUCKS currency as the prize.

It should be noted that ADMINS and MODS can change points for ANY member here. They can award points to a member for a good deed such as winning a graphical contest, trivia contest, etc. or they can take away points based on bad behavior. (i.e. a fine.)

Hope you enjoy! ots.gif

So you get points to buy tickets to get more points to buy tickets?

Seems sorta ... pointless.

Maybe we can spend them on like graphics...

this is only the start of it. if i could get our casino to work, i'd use that. i might also try to get a store up where you could buy 'gifts' like a jersey for another forum member.

EDIT: Casino ditched due to too many errors.

Why? I think the board's fine as it is. We don't need more controversy than what we already generate wink.gif

It's been pulled back down due to technical difficulties with the gaming purposes for which these points could be used.

I don't think it really deserves another topic, so here goes:

Why under each persons profile, once they have posted is there the amount of posts they have and then the exact same thing directly below it?

TA might be using the IPB default skin. The remnants of the trial point system is still showing up there with the double posts entry under the avatar.
