Considering that he and the team have agreed that he needs and will get some help, I'd say the length is right.
Honestly, you could suspend him for the next 10 years and it wouldn't make a difference without getting help.
Hopefully, the help helps.
If not, I'd vote for a lifetime ban.

I think its fair. No player should be doing that sort of thing to another player. 30 games is a long time and thankfully the NHL got it right and banned him for a long time. Hopefully this will send a message to all the players in the NHL that this sort of behavior is not allowed and you will be punished for a long time.

I definately think it does not warrant the longest suspension in NHL history. However, he is a repeat offender. This is a good precedent and I think the league got it right. This is a statement for all players that stuff like this will not be tolerated.
This is interesting, because most Canadian folk are up in arms about this saying how it is way too short, but I think this is harsh but fair. 30 games is not 30 days. They have to remember that. It's actually around 60-70 days with having nothing to do with the team.

The league has had Simon problems in the past. But I think a 15-20 game suspention would've done it.

This was a perfect suspension. About time the league stood up and put a player in his place.

I think the suspension is fine. What I think is missing is psychological/psychiatric counseling.
