TSN Ice Chips

QUOTE
van.png The Flames can tie a franchise record for consecutive road wins tonight with seven. They are playing a Canucks team that has not lost at home in regulation since Nov. 1st (8-0-2). They have given up just three goals in their last six at home... Ryan Kessler will not play tonight due to "light-headedness" coming out of the Colorado game. He is feeling better today and expects to skate tomorrow... Mattias Ohlund will miss his second straight game because of a neck strain. The spasms have been causing him headaches and they are not sure if he'll be back on the ice before Sunday's game... For most of the season the Canucks have been trying to match top lines with 5-man units with Ryan Kessler anchoring the checking line. Without Kessler, Alain Vigneault may try to go head-to-head with Markus Naslund and the Sedins against the Iginla line. - TSN

ott.png Ray Emery, who has started just two games in the last eight, vented some frustration with his lack of playing time today. As he was leaving the ice, Emery slammed his stick on the boards then swung his stick, taking out the water bottles on top of the boards. As he was leaving, he hurled his stick into the stands. Neither general manager Bryan Murray nor head coach John Paddock had any comment on the incident saying they didn't see it take place. Murray said he wanted to speak with Emery after practice but that the goalie had left before he had a chance to speak with him... Martin Gerber will get the start in goal tonight when they host the Islanders. For New York, Wade Dubielewicz will make just his third start of the season with Rick DiPietro out. The Islanders said Thursday that DiPietro is day-to-day with a knee sprain... Both the Senators and Islanders held optional skates today. - TSN

edm.png Forward Ales Hemsky's MRI came back negative but won't play tonight against the Ducks. He is still feeling sore from the knee-on-knee hit with Blackhawks' Martin Lapointe on Sunday. - TSN

tml.png Defenceman Carlo Colaiacovo is on his way to Philadelphia and is expected to play tonight for the Maple Leafs. - TSN Andrew Raycroft will start in net for the Maple Leafs tonight versus the Flyers. Vesa Toskala is believed to have a groin pull, but is still travelling with the club. Scott Clemmensen will continue to back up Raycroft. - TSN

cal.png Miikka Kiprusoff has been given most of the credit for the Flames improved play since Dec. 1st But his numbers have not been brilliant during the run. He's actually given up three or more goals in four of his last six games even though they are 4-0-2. - TSN

Daymond Langkow, Eric Godard and David Moss were missing from Wednesday's practice; Moss with a high ankle sprain, Langkow and Godard for personal reasons... Rhett Warrener, still recovereing from a high ankle sprain, skated before practice... Coach Mike Keenan said Owen Nolan will probably get back in the lineup tonight after missing the last few games due to a "stinger." - TSN

Man. I saw the Spin-o-rama move by Daniel Sedin in the first period of the Van vs. Cgy game. That was certainly impressive. It looked like a footie move called 360. That was pretty cool.
