If you could be the hockey gods and pick the three teams that the Ducks must go through to win their second Stanley Cup, which three teams would they be?

Oilers, Wild and Devils. (I need to have pay-back from '03.)

Wouldn't that then be Stars, Wild and Devils? biggrin.gif

I'm assuming you're asking who we'd like to see beaten by the Ducks, and not who we'd like the Ducks to play. If we're talking about the latter then the Kings, Oilers and Lightening sound pretty good teams to play this year, if only we could play the 15th seeds. biggrin.gif

Okay, I would like to see the Ducks take on and beat the Wings, Oilers and Devils, just for for all the whinging that those teams do when they play and get beaten by the Ducks. biggrin.gif

Don't we play four teams in the playoffs if we go al the way? I've chosen Stars, Wings, Penguins. Stars beacause I hate them. Wings always are great series and we hate them. Penguins because if we beat them, maybe the world stops talking about them and start talking about the Ducks!
If we could play these teams in the last three rounds of the playoffs I hope it all strated with a sweep of the Sharks. Yes that would be nice ots.gif

Wow! I really had a senior moment!! Or I am still confused about getting up in the late hours to post TMS and finding it already there! Crazy day!! We will just assume that one of the four teams is a cinch to beat and concentrate on the three important ones. biggrin.gif

I voted other because I just couldn't decide. I can see us playing any of those combinations. blink.gif

SJS, CGY, DET, PP

If you want three, cut out either of the first two... DO NOT remove the last two (por favor)

And my reasoning? To zip the mouths of the naysayers, bandwagoners, and mouthflappers (especially at NBC) that think the SCF's destiny is somehow pledged to Sidney Crosby (oh what a relief it has been since his injury!), original six teams or at least ones east of the Mississippi/north of the border.

Thank you. pray.gif

I rarely pay any attention to who the Canadian or East Coast media think is "Cup Worthy", but it really bothers me when the Western media gets behind San Jose every year as the one to beat in the West. Where exactly is there proof that they can go any further than an also-ran in the Western Conference? I need evidence that they even have enough heart to go any further than Thursday!

And thus my inclusion of them in my "Shut up the Pundits" list...

I'm sick of the Wings and Canucks and the wild. I'd like to see the Sharks first round because they've been a little easier to beat in the past and we've never played them in a plaqyoff series from what I can remember., then the flames because that would be awesome to watch. Last the penguins because I want to see that allstar line-up get waxed especially sindey.

another option would be the hardest teams just to prove how dominant we are. Dallas, Red wings, Pens.

Tough group of series, but I like the way you think. It would also salt the wounds of the Detroit fans who think they got jobbed last season in the WCF.

SJS, Calgary, Detroit, Pen

I think Dallas will be taken out early and we won't have to face them (perhaps the Avs doing the dirty work) just a hunch.

The WCF should be the two best NHL teams, same as last year. Whoever wins that one will win the cup (doesn't matter who the East puts up).
