TSN's Ice Chips:

QUOTE
goducks1ux5.gif Corey Perry, out since March 6 because of a torn quadriceps, appears likely to play in Game Four on Thursday night. - Anaheim Ducks
Ducks rookie Bobby Ryan was scratched for Game 3 after going scoreless in the first two games. Center Brian Sutherby returned to the lineup after sitting out Game 2. Defensemen Marc-Andre Bergeron and Joe DiPenta have yet to play in the series. - LA Times
Ducks right wing Rob Niedermayer did not play in Game 3 Tuesday night because of concussion-like symptoms that put his status in doubt for the rest of the series. - LA Times
Rookie right wing Bobby Ryan and defencemen Marc-Andre Bergeron and Joe DiPenta were healthy scratches on Tuesday.

col.png After a mental error that helped cost the Avalanche Game 3 of its playoff series with Minnesota, Jeff Finger was benched for Game 4 on Tuesday night by coach Joel Quenneville. He was a healthy scratch, while Jordan Leopold made his first appearance of the series. Quenneville changed up his lines to start Game 4. Ryan Smyth was moved up to a line with Paul Stastny and Milan Hejduk, and Cody McLeod took his spot on the third line. Wojtek Wolski was dropped to the fourth line and Peter Forsberg skated with Joe Sakic and Andrew Brunette. - Denver Post

dal.png Defenceman Sergei Zubov, who had a recent procedure in Germany to address lingering problems with a sports hernia, skated for the first time since the operation. Zubov was on the ice in sweats Monday, but Tippett said there is no real update. - Dallas Morning News

det.png Increasingly it looks as if Kirk Maltby won't be ready for this first round of the playoffs. The hamstring injury that has kept Maltby in the trainer's room instead of on the ice is getting better, but Maltby will likely run out of time. - Detroit News

mon.png Mark Streit (foot) did not practice on Wednesday, taking the day as therapy day... Head coach Guy Carbonneau had no update on captain Saku Koivu's X-ray on his injured foot... The Canadiens called up G Yann Danis, D Pavel Valentenko and forwards Matt D'Agostini, Duncan Milroy, Kyle Chipchura and Corey Locke (April's AHL Player of the Month). - TSN

ott.png Bryan Murray is juggling his lineup for the fourth straight game as he will put the Spezza-Heatley-Alfredsson line back together. The last time Ottawa won four straight this season was January 4-12. The Senators will be looking to avoid its third sweep in franchise history. - TSN

phi.png Flyers defenceman Kimmo Timonen, who suffered a bruised right shoulder in the second period of the Flyers' 6-3 victory over the Washington Caps Tuesday night, expects to play in Thursday's Game Four at the Wachovia Center. - TSN

pitt.png Gary Roberts, dealing with a sore groin, and Ryan Malone, who has administered and absorbed considerable punishment in the Penguins' first-round playoff series against Ottawa, sat out the team's practice at Scotiabank Place Tuesday. Coach Michel Therrien said he expects Malone to be in the lineup when the Penguins and Senators meet in Game 4. He declined to speculate on whether Roberts, who is listed as day to day, will be in uniform. - Pittsburgh Tribune Review
The last time the Penguins swept a series was in the 1992 Stanley Cup Final versys Chicago. The Penguins have been up 3-0 twice since then and have lost Game 4 both times, wrapping up the series the following game. The last team to come back from a 3-0 deficit were the '75 Islanders. That series was against the Penguins. - TSN

Ottawa's first round was on its death bed in early December and dead when Alfredsson and Fisher went out, they just needed a team to seal it. Good job, Pittsburgh, hope you get a better opponent in the next round.

Wow... Look at Nashville.
A team that no one was even sure that they would be in Nashville at the end of this year, and they're tied up 2-2 against the #1 seeded Detroit Red Wings

Amazing... who'da thunk after the start they had?

Personally, I'd be disgusted if I were a Sens fan... hell, I am disgusted.

After seeing how that franchise has handled adversity, I've lost my respect for them. They play the victim, they complain about everybody else, and it's never their fault. Bryan Murray has devolved into a sniveling whiner.

"Watching the team, like everbody has brought up a thousand times, we looked like we had a promising season ahead of us," Murray said. "We just didn't play over the course of the latter part of the year the way we had been playing."
