Great news! It looks like he earned his place with the club. If not for the unfortunate injury who knows what else he could have done for us this season. I am really looking forward to seeing him contribute with an even greater role with the team next season. Go Carter Go! clapping.gif

His current salary was $560K. Wonder what the increase was. You should find out shortly.

We can play the guessing game.....I get $750k!

But seriously, I am very interested. Being cap-poor, every signing will be watched very closely.....

Hooray! Sure to carry our checking line, and possibly our second line, in seasons to come!

Very good to hear! Congrats to Ryan Carter on the new deal and I'm glad to have him back on the Ducks for the next three years.

Great news. The ONLY thing that makes me nervous is his propensity to take a penalty when working the boards. Minor issue that I'm sure he'll grow out of. Definately a good move for the future of the Ducks.

Great sign by the almighty BB. I can't help but wonder how much of a "priority" it is to sign Perry... Ok I'm done being a downer laugh.gif. I'm excited to see what Carter will do for us next year! ots.gif

You just can't have too many Ryan's! Nice that his efforts are being rewarded. He was by far the best skater on the ice during the away games at New York/New Jersey. clapping.gif

I am very happy with the signing.....although I do hope he will be playing on the 3rd or 4th line rather than the 2nd.....in any case great signing! smile.gif

It's great to have/keep another quick, tenacious, and hungry player along the lines of Chris Kunitz, who gives everything he has night in and night out.

Maybe Ryan Carter can be the second line center we need, maybe not. He sure showed some promise centering Teemu and Kunie for that brief time, and IIRC that's when he threw those pucks into the back of the net. If Teemu plays this coming season, I say we give Carter the chance to center them again.

though my family and I are eagerly awaiting news about the signing of Mr. 2 digits lower than Carter... probably have to wait till after the pirates are done playing for that.

Glad we got him signed.

I think he could end up being the next Mcdonald.

That's a stretch. I like Carter but he hasn't shown neither the skating ability nor the hands that Mac has. He skates well and chips in a little but Mac is a gifted offensive player.

Mac's hands weren't amazing either at first.

I didn't think Burke would tie up any more money before re-signing Pears. Guess I was wrong. Hopefully we got him for a steal at 700-800k. Although I have a feeling it will be more like 1-1.5 mill.

The Ducks made their first player-personnel move of an earlier-than-anticipated offseason Tuesday, signing rookie center Ryan Carter to a three-year contract worth $1.875 million.

Carter, 24, will receive $525,000 next season, $625,000 in 2009-10 and $725,000 in 2010-11, giving the Ducks an annual salary-cap hit of $625,000. He will stand to become an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the deal.
