Gary Roberts, a 42-year-old veteran, will be in the lineup tonight for Game 2. With Roberts in, Georges Laraque becomes a healthy scratch.
Penguins coach Michel Therrien made changes to all four forward lines during practice on Sunday. Sidney Crosby and Marian Hossa skated with Ryan Malone instead of Pascal Dupuis on the top line. Dupuis moved to a line with Tyler Kennedy centered by Jordan Staal. Evgeni Malkin will center a line with Petr Sykora and Max Talbot, and Roberts played on a line with Adam Hall and Jarkko Ruutu.
The Penguins were bothered by the physical play of the Wings, so they will try to help Crosby by putting a big body like Malone (6-feet-4, 224 pounds) on the line. Therrien wanted to keep certain combinations together-Crosby and Hossa, Malkin and Sykora and Staal and Kennedy. Talbot could help jump-start the Malkin line.
"With Talbot, I like his grit," Therrien said. "I like his speed. He's a guy that likes to pursue the puck, to create turnovers. So I believe it could be a good fit." - Detroit Free Press
Following Game 1, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby told TSN that he felt the team's forechecking needs to be a lot more aggressive and that the Penguins didn't pressure the Red Wings' defence enough. He also said they were trying to be too fancy in Game 1. - TSN

Not much in the way of penalties, but neither team could take advantage of their limited PP opportunities anyway.

The Wings had a scare moments later when Johan Franzen absorbed an unpenalized punch to the face from Gary Roberts and fell to the ice. Franzen had missed six games with concussion-like symptoms before returning for Game 2. He left the ice under his own power.

The comments were reminiscent of last season, when Ottawa Senators coach Bryan Murray, in the midst of watching his team getting eaten alive by the Anaheim Ducks, complained that the Ducks were holding them up. All that did was rationalize the Ottawa players' failure to compete.
Therrien also accused Osgood of diving on both of the goaltender interference penalties assessed against the Penguins in Game 2.
"I'll tell you something, I reviewed those plays. He's a good actor. He goes to players, and he's diving."

The last time the Penguins were shut out in back-to-back games was in February 2003. They have been held without a goal for 135:57 dating back to Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals, their longest drought of the season.

Remind anyone of the Ottawa Senators after two games with the Anaheim Ducks in last year's Cup final?

That's $10, 000 and counting in fines for Sabotka, supposedly coming out of his own pocket.
Well worth it to show up the biggest little slimy creature in the building, Gary Bettman...
