According to a recent article by Mark Whicker (LINK) the Ducks may already have their top six forwards for next season (assuming that Teemu Selanne decides to return).
Ryan Getzlaf
Corey Perry
Chris Kunitz
Todd Bertuzzi
Teemu Selanne
Bobby Ryan
The question is...are you happy with that? Do you think those will be good enough to get the Ducks into the playoffs? If they do make the playoffs, will those six be good enough to get them back to the Stanley Cup Finals?

I think they are to be honest.
Bertuzzi will have to be better and play center. If the other players play as good or better than this season and Bobby Ryan has a good rookie season then I believe that the top 6 will be good enough. Its getting offense from our bottom 6 that needs some work.

Most line ups could always stand a tweaking here and there and the Ducks are no different. It will be interesting to see how things all play out over the summer.

our checking line didn't play together alot during the regular season, Sami was missing alot of action...Bertuzzi never really got it going...if Perry never got injured we could've won more games same goes for Pronger getting suspended...we still need that little umphh cause we did horrible in goals for this season

How do you get that from an article that quotes Brian Burke as saying his mission is to "put together six forwards who can score"?
Why would it be a "mission" if he already has the players, and the group came in third to last in the league in scoring???
And to answer the questions, since there is only one natural center in that group you named, I am not happy with it as our top six precisely because I don't believe that the Ducks will get past the first round, if they even make the playoffs.

The Ducks already have Bertuzzi, Getzlaf and Kunitz under contract. Perry is a RFA and every indication says he'll be here next year. Selanne, if he plays for the Ducks, will be on the top six and, according to that article, so will Bobby Ryan. That's six.
You quote Brian Burke accurately but left out the very next sentence in that article:
QUOTE
Burke's mission is to "put together six forwards who can score." One must be Ryan, who is just 21.
If the Ducks are planning on having Ryan in the top six, as this article claims, than four of their top six are already under contract and the other two (Perry & Selanne) could be under contract as soon as July 1st. I'll let you speculate on what Brian Burke's mission is or isn't but according to this article the Ducks already have their top six forwards for next season (assuming Teemu Selanne decides to return). The question then becomes...is that good enough?

I disagree. We still need a 2nd line forward that plays naturally at center whether it's going to be Ryan Carter or Todd Marchant or someone else through UFA signing or a deal.

I'm going to say no. I really can't see Bert playing center, and I'm concerned with our lack of left wingers. Maybe we could package Bert for a second line center?

Players are going to be added and lost due to trades I assume, so I doubt that those 6 will be the top 6.
