SJS re-signs Roenick -- TSN
What a freaking goldmine JR was for SJS this season.
Out of his fourteen goals for the season, he had ten game-winning goals! (I know he got at least two shootout GWG's also, but I'm not sure those are included in those ten). Also, four of those fourteen were the all-important first goal of game goals. He skated mostly fourth line and second PP unit, with seven PP goals.
Talk about adding some energy... goals are the best energy any player on the fourth line can add. Heck, any line for that matter.
In the playoffs, he chipped in 5 points with two goals.
And all that only cost San Jose less than George Parros' salary.
Such a deal!
Meanwhile, the Ducks paid Todd Bertuzzi $4mil for the same number of goals (14), but only 2 game-winners. He had no goals in the playoffs, but two assists. Bert played in 74 games for the Ducks, while the Sharks got 81 games out of Roenick.
But Todd did manage to skate 170 more minutes than JR. Maybe those and his seven more assists were worth $3.5mil...

Killer deal for Blues
I think Emery will be grabbed by a team.
Cloutier will stay in LA and be bought out. Honestly, The Kings should try to claim Emery. Just to get SOME kind of competent goaltending for once. I don't care about the Kings so I'm not too sure if Bernier will be ready.

Whoa, Emery on waivers and mentioned in the same breath as Dan Cloutier? Boy, what a fall from grace. Makes sense for the Sens, though.

Doubtful. At his current salary of $3mil per year, I'm betting he clears waivers, gets bought out by the Sens, and then signs as SOMEBODY'S backup for under a $mil. Too big of a risk at his current contract....but an acceptable risk at a 1year lower price contract.

Joe Sakic is trying to decide to play one more year, or retire. Another older one, DK, dropping off.......
