I've been collecting a lot of DQ Flamethrower burger coupons...trouble is, I don't eat at DQ!
QUOTE
With all the free hamburgers the T-Birds and Dairy Queen are giving away at home games, maybe we need to change the name of KeyArena to the Grill. In case you didn’t know, each time the Thunderbirds score five or more goals at home each fan in attendance receives a coupon good for a free “Flame Thrower” grill burger from DQ. The T-Birds have now scored five goals or more in four straight home games after Saturday’s 6-2 win over rival Portland. Seattle has only had six home games to date and will play 28 home games the second half of the season. As this keeps up, I understand a lot of cattle are applying for the witness protection program.

I'd mail 'em down to any of you all that wants 'em, but I don't think the coupons are good in Cali. I'll check!

Saturday night was the annual Turkey (puck) Shoot in which I bagged a bird with a shot that landed dead center of the net. I'll be eating good this winter! biggrin.gif

Some major fight action in the second period of this game, ending with an opposing player flipping off the crowd. Good description in Seattle Sports Online:
QUOTE
The Seattle lead bloated to 6-1 in the second period, thanks in part to a five-point night by Prab Rai, a scoring gap worthy of a brawl. Left winger Chris Cloud got into it with a variety of Portland players, starting one small fight, moving to his main one, then jumping into the one between Thomas Hickey and the Winter Hawks' Tayler Jordan.

Hickey became involved when Cloud was jumped from behind while in a fight. The captain came to the winger's defense, though it didn't benefit his face much in the end. Knowing the process that left Hickey in the final fight of the lot, Cloud jumped in, reached in really, pulling Hickey's assailant off of him. As much as Cloud tugged at Jordan, the referee tugged at Cloud. That would make it a night for the feisty wing, a game misconduct penalty shipping him off the ice.

It was the referee who was able to get Jordan off the ice, though it took some shoving. The Winter Hawks' left wing stopped at the end of the T-Birds' bench to comment in their direction, perhaps looking to talk Apple Cup. (college football) Jordan also gave fans a singular salute on his way out. Fans in turn, as they did much of the night, rhythmically informed him of Portland's status in their eyes. (chanting "Portland Sucks")

Since I went to my brother's house for Thanksgiving, the bird remains in our freezer.

Seattle in on a little bit of a roll, winning the last three games. We have a tough weekend coming up though. Hopefully we'll do well and catch up to Everett, who is 4 points ahead. It seems like we are always chasing those 'Tips! eyebrow.gif

Caduck and I failed at the ham shoot...but they put us on the wrong sides. She's a lefty and I'm a righty but we ended up on opposite sides of the ice...we'll need to work on our backhand shots! hockey1.gif
