Winger Marco Sturm (upper body) did not skate Monday and remains day-to-day. He has not played since Nov. 17 in Toronto. - Boston Herald

Joel Lundqvist skated back in Dallas and is taking some shots. But he is still a few weeks away from returning. Jere Lehtinen (upper body) is not skating, and probably won't until the end of this week. - Dallas Morning News

Tomas Holmstrom missed his third straight game because of what GM Ken Holland called a disk inflammation, and Holmstrom isn't expected back for at least two weeks because he has been told not to do any conditioning/skating for a week. Dan Cleary (eye) could return by week's end. Chris Chelios (leg) had a full-out skate in Detroit. - Detroit Free Press

Carey Price will get the start in net for Montreal Wednesday against the Red Wings. Jaroslav Halak will start get a start either Friday against the Capitals or Saturday versus the Sabres. - TSN

Steve Sullivan, out since February 2007 because of a back injury, is skating lightly by himself. "Nothing strenuous," Sullivan said. "We are not going to plan on doing that for awhile. We are just trying to strengthen it. There are areas we still want to work on in the gym before we try to do any pushing on the ice." - Tennessean

Forwards Mike Fisher and Ryan Shannon both took part in the Senators practice Tuesday morning, however both remain questionable for Thursday night's game against the Maple Leafs. Fisher has missed the past two games after suffering a knee injury on November 17th while Shannon has not played since suffering a concussion on November 13th - TSN

Backup goalie Antero Niittymaki will probably play Wednesday in Carolina. Ossi Vaananen (broken right finger) returned to the lineup Monday after missing the past four games. To accommodate his return, Lasse Kukkonen was scratched and coach John Stevens changed two of his defensive pairings. The pair of rookie Luca Sbisa with Timonen saw Vaananen go with Timonen instead of Sbisa, who he had been with. Andrew Alberts, who had been with Kukkonen, was paired with Sbisa. - Philadelphia Inquirer

Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury (undisclosed injury) again did not participate in practice Monday. Asked whether Fleury might be available by the end of the week, Michel Therrien simply said, "He's day to day." Defenceman Ryan Whitney, who has not played this season after foot surgery, went through a full practice and reported no difficulties. He is expected back in December. - Post Gazette

The newly acquired Lee Stempniak will make his Leaf debut tonight after both Carlo Colaiacovo and Alex Steen passed their physicals this afternoon. Curtis Joseph will get the start in net for Toronto. - TSN

The Canucks have recalled centre Alexandre Bolduc from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. - TSN
