Neither long on style points nor jaw-dropping in entertainment value, Friday's 1-0 Ducks triumph over the Chicago Blackhawks at Honda Center was effective nonetheless.

Goaltender Jonas Hiller notched 26 saves for his second shutout in four starts, and a second-period goal by center Ryan Getzlaf stood up to give the Ducks a third consecutive victory after they had muddled through a 1-3-2 stretch.
