David LeNeveu was sent to Iowa and Brett Festerling was recalled on Saturday. - LA Times

Aaron Ward left in the first period on Saturday with what appeared to be a left leg injury and will be evaluated Sunday. - Boston Globe

Marco Sturm (post-concussion syndrome) missed his sixth game in a row on Saturday. - Boston Globe

Head coach Joel Quenneville has liked what he's seen having Patrick Kane play on a line with Patrick Sharp. "They seem to have a nice little bit of chemistry amongst each other. Whether it's a regular shift or a power play together, there's something there." - Daily Herald Times

The Avalanche placed defenceman Adam Foote (neck, back and knee injuries) on injured reserve, retroactive to November 22. In a related move, the Avalanche recalled defenceman Aaron MacKenzie from the Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. - TSN

Richard Zednik (elbow) will miss a few weeks but according to head coach Pete DeBoer the veteran will not need surgery. - Miami Herald

The team lost Nathan Horton (deep cut on leg) for an indefinite amount of time being injured on Wednesday. There is no major damage but head coach Pete DeBoer said the position of the cut and the resulting stitches will make playing difficult. "He's out through the weekend," DeBoer said. The team is expected to call up Shawn Matthias from Rochester of the AHL. - Miami Herald

Steve Sullivan participated in organized drills for the first time since suffering a back injury early in 2007. Sullivan skated with four teammates on Saturday in an optional skate. "It was only a few guys going out, so I decided to go out for a spin with them," Sullivan said. The forward was excited but did not want to raise any expectations over a return. - Tennessean

The team told Josh Bailey on Friday he will be staying with the club for the 2008-09 season. - Islanders website

Daniel Briere and the Flyers are taking things slow regarding his return. There is a chance he could play Tuesday against the Lightning. "I'm close," Briere said Thursday. "But I'm just not 100 percent there yet and it's better to be safe and healthy. I won't play today, and probably not [Saturday in Toronto] either." - Philadelphia Daily News

Randy Jones (hip surgery) and Ryan Parent (shoulder surgery) practiced with the Flyers on Tuesday. They pair are getting closer to returning and Jones hopes to play before Christmas, while the club hopes Parent will be back play December 26 against the Blackhawks. - Philadelphia Daily News

Olli Jokinen (shoulder) was injured on Wednesday in Columbus and will miss 2-4 weeks. - Arizona Republic

Ryan Whitney is back skating but said he is still "week-to-week." He had surgery on his left foot back in August and has yet to play this season. Whitney says he should be back to full-contact drills soon. - Tribune Review

Marc-Andre Fleury skated Friday, he has been battling a suspected leg/groin injury. The goaltender "felt pretty good," according to head coach Michel Therrien but there is no date set for a return. - Post Gazette

Jonathan Cheechoo (upper body) did not play on Saturday night. The same injury caused him to miss six games earlier in November. Riley Armstrong took a cross-country flight from Boston to Phoenix in order to make his NHL debut. Armstrong played on the fourth line with Jeremy Roenick and Jody Shelley. Tomas Plihal skated on the third line in place of Cheechoo with Marcel Goc and Mike Grier. - Mercury News

Matt Smaby and Jason Ward were sent to Norfolk of the AHL on Saturday. - Tampa Tribune

The team held a short practice on Sunday morning before heading to Los Angeles for Monday's game with the Kings.
Matt Stajan missed practice with the flu and apparently needed an IV prior to Saturday's game. Head coach Ron Wilson expects the forward to play on Monday.
Jason Blake skated again. He said he has been cleared to play and now it is the coach's decision. He said he feels good and wanted to play on Saturday. - TSN

The Maple Leafs will take Toronto Marlies defenceman Jaime Sifers with them on their road trip to have an extra blue liner around in case of injury. - Globe and Mail

Ryan Johnson will miss 3-5 weeks with a broken index finger and foot. He injured the finger in the last game, his foot had been bothering him since the third game of the year against Washington, he had an x-ray on the foot just in case when he went in to have his finger checked and the extent of the foot injury was discovered. - TSN
